Bug#762988: xserver-xorg-core: clicks to root window are flakey
Package: xserver-xorg-core Version: 2:1.16.0.901-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I'm having a strange problem with clicks on the root window. Often, clicking on the root window fails to generate the appropriate events. This causes severe problems with those traditional WMs where most of the UI is in a menu normally reached by clicking on the root window. The worst part: sometimes it *does* work. I *think* that messing with the xrandr configjuration is an one of the things that affects this, but I can't swear to it, and it's not anything nearly so simple as works before adding a second monitor. (So much for the idea that it had something to do with non-rectangular display layouts.) Sorry I can't be more specific about what's going wrong, but it could be relevant that my CPU is an Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3220 @ 3.00GHz, since, as I understand it, my GPU is in there somewhere too. -- Package-specific info: X server symlink status: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Jun 10 2006 /etc/X11/X - /usr/bin/Xorg -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2556784 Sep 16 12:00 /usr/bin/Xorg VGA-compatible devices on PCI bus: -- 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0402] (rev 06) /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not exist. /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d does not exist. /etc/modprobe.d contains no KMS configuration files.
