Bug#789395: libdrm-nouveau2: pushbuf.c not found

2015-11-20 Thread Andreas Boll
Unfortunately this isn't enough information.
Please attach the file created by this command:
/usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg-core/script 3>/tmp/script.log

Further we would need a backtrace with installed debug symbols from
the crash.
You can use gdb to get the backtrace.

Thanks,
Andreas

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Graphics hangs intermittently in Debian testing, this was in dmesg after
several seconds of non responsive graphics:

[ 430.954914] [drm] stuck on render ring
[ 430.954918] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 430.954919] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[ 430.954920] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 430.954920] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 430.954921] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.
[ 430.957326] [drm:i915_set_reset_status] *ERROR* render ring hung inside bo
(0x316e000 ctx 1) at 0x316e004

There are also various graphics issues, e g the mouse cursor often becomes a
square block of lines.

Tried reporting the bug at bugs.freedesktop.org but their bugzilla is
broken(!).

Tried attaching GPU crash dump to this report, wasn't allowed.

Is this still an issue?

Reassigning to src:linux since the commit in question is for the i915
kernel driver.

The xserver on this machine is crashing. So far, it's happening whenever
I've tried to run a winex/cedega based game, tried to run glxgears, or tried
to call up glxinfo. Whenever any of the aforementioened are attempted, I'm
dumped back to the console (since I use startx). This has come up today, but
I haven't restarted the xserver in well over a month.

Package: mesa-vdpau-drivers
Version: 10.5.9-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I updated linux-image to version 4.0 and got strong Audio/Video
desynchronisation in both mpv and VLC. When I rebooted the system with
kernel 3.16 video played well as usual.

Subject: libgl1-mesa-dri: [amd64,i965] crash in prepare_wm_surfaces

X reproducibly crashes when exiting the fullscreen mode of the
proprietary flash plugin video player. (I realize you must be as
enthusiastic as I am about flashplugin-nonfree, but anyway it
shouldn't crash X.)

I attached gdb to it before causing it to crash, getting the following
GDB session log:

This is likely a problem in the nouveau kernel driver or TTM.
Reassigning to src:linux.

Thanks,

Package: xserver-xorg-video-sisusb
Version: 1:0.9.6-2+b2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The package fails to set the correct standard resolutions for the laptop screen
and for any external monitors connected.
This package was installed automatically, probably during system installation.

I am new to Debian GNU/Linux and have been using the system for some months,
and I have never been able to set the correct maximum resolution (1280*800) in
the main monitor (laptop screen), the only available resolutions are 1024*768,
800*600 and 640*480. When I try to plug in any external monitor in the VGA
port, the image quality is always terrible: very low resolution with many
artifacts, and I am not able to set its resolution nor its refresh rate, which
keeps locked in 0 Hz.
Fortunately, 3D acceleration seems to work, but with some frequent tearing.

I have also heard that all Debian-based distributions have this problem, and
some sites say that this package is not the correct one for using with this VGA
adapter.

Sorry for the weird English, I am not a native speaker.

Package: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
Version: 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1
Severity: normal

Hi nouveau folks--

I'm seeing corrupted text glyphs and icons in the latest gnome-shell
(from either unstable or experimental). I believe it's a problem with
the nouveau driver (maybe specific to this particular model of card?)

I've got a Dell Dimension 8300 with an AGP slot containing an NV34
[GeForce FX 5200]. It's connected to an Acer AL715 monitor via VGA
(not DVI) that apparently can't send proper EDID, but the problem
exists when connected to monitors which support proper EDID.

I've attached a screenshot of the upper taskbar of gnome-shell with
the corrupted glyphs and icons.

There was a similar report to this one that appears to have been
mis-filed in a report about missing characters (in this case no
characters are missing, they're just garbled) that has a screenshot
very much like what i'm seeing (and with the same hardware):

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=636874#15

i've seen this problem ever since gnome3 stopped auto-selecting
fallback mode on this system.

I'm willing to do potentially drastic things on this system to debug
if it would help fix the problem; i just don't know what would need to
be done. Any pointers would be welcome.

Thanks for maintaining the Nouveau drivers in debian!

Source: libgl1-mesa-dri
Version: 10.2.5-1
Severity: important
Tags: d-i patch

NB : I've fixed this bug on my laptop, so the informations below are correct.
But with this bug, none of the GL applications work : glxinfo for example
returns "Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig".

Description of the bug :
This bug appeared after an upgrade of the packages. When Xorg is loading the
GLX module, there is an error with libs "r600_dri.so" and "swrast_dri.so". The
Xorg.0.log says :
[50.309] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/r600_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/r600_dri.so: undefined symbol:
_glapi_tls_Dispatch)
[50.309] (EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
[50.327] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/swrast_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/swrast_dri.so: undefined symbol:
_glapi_tls_Dispatch)
[50.327] (EE) GLX: could not load software renderer

So the GLX module is not loaded, and all of apps that are using OpenGL can not
work (including glxinfo).
The problem is that the libs try to use a tls function, but they seem not to be
built correctly. To fix it, you must re-build the Mesa library with the flag
--enable-glx-tls, and it should work correctly (that is what I have done, and
now all is working fine).

Since no-one objected so far, it would be great if the priority of
libpam-systemd would be bumped now.
