Bug#900658: Intel HD graphics display rotation broken with 2:1.20.0-2

2018-06-02 Thread Yuri D'Elia

Package: xserver-xorg-core
Version: 2:1.20.0-2
Severity: normal

After updating to 2:1.20.0-2 from 2:1.19.99.901-1, the ability to rotate the
display via xrandr's --rotate stopped working.

I'm using an Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520 [8086:1916] (rev 07) from a
Lenovo Yoga 1st Gen, kms driver.

The cursor is still displayed, but the screen is otherwise black in any
orientation except for normal.

The issue is present with kernels 4.15, 4.16 and 4.17 rc7 from experimental.

Downgrading xserver-xorg-core to the previous version fixes the issue.

Bug#900087: xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu: AMD RX 550 often locks up

2018-06-02 Thread Alan W. Irwin

The propagation of kernel 4.16.12 from Sid to Buster has greatly
improved this situation, i.e., no lock ups so far (uptime approaching
3 days since I switched to 4.16.12 from 4.16.5) and may have
completely solved it. For further details see
.

I would like to see what sort of maximum uptime I can now achieve with
this card without lock ups and report that here for the benefit of
other Debian users of AMD RX 550 graphics cards so please leave this
bug open for at least several more months.

Future of xserver-xorg-video-ivtvdev package

2018-06-02 Thread Ian Campbell
[cc: kibi, Julien, the other uploaders of this package]

Hi,

On the back of #899766[0] I've just filed #900631[1] to have the ivtv-
utils package removed from unstable which made me wonder about the ivtv
X driver.

Like with the utils I've been unable to find any current upstream for
the driver, the ivtvdriver.org site is dead (domain parked at the
moment).

Popcon[2] is v. low, hasn't been uploaded since 2013. I was a bit
surprised it was even installable on a modern system but I guess X's
ABI compat is pretty good.

WTYT, should this one be removed as well?

Ian.

Bug#900619: libgl1-mesa-glx: software opengl 2.0?

2018-06-02 Thread Hans-J. Ullrich
Package: libgl1-mesa-glx
Version: 13.0.6-1+b2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

in version 13.X.X.X there was an implementation of a software opengl2.0, for
cards, which
do not have opengl 2.0 natively (just as mine, Intel I945). This was (as far as
I know) abandoned in 17.X. Is there any chance, that it will be implemented
again?

At the moment I am still running 13.X, as this is working for me - but hwo long?

Opengl 2.0 is needed for the special effects in Plasma (which I am very fond
of).

Thanks for any feedback.

Best regards

Hans
