Bug#909276: xorg-server breaks qbzr autopkgtest: AssertionError: Timeout!

2018-09-20 Thread Paul Gevers
Source: xorg-server, qbzr
Control: found -1 xorg-server/2:1.20.1-3
Control: found -1 qbzr/0.23.2-4
X-Debbugs-CC: debian...@lists.debian.org
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: breaks needs-update

Dear maintainers,

With a recent upload of xorg-server the autopkgtest of qbzr fails in
testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
xorg-server from unstable. Interesting data point, with 2:1.20.1-2 from
two days ago it passed. It passes when run with only packages from
testing. In tabular form:
   passpass   fail
xorg-serverfrom testing2:1.20.1-2 2:1.20.1-3
qbzr   from testing0.23.2-4   0.23.2-4
all others from testingfrom testing from testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Based on
reading the xorg-server changelog, I suspect these tests are trying to
activate something on screen and now they are missing the active area:
  * xvfb-run*: Update default resolution and bitdepth to match upstream
defaults.

Currently this regression is contributing to the delay of the migration
of xorg-server to testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I filed
this bug report against both packages. Can you please investigate the
situation and reassign the bug to the right package? If needed, please
change the bug's severity.

Bug#909249: libdrm: FTBFS on kfreebsd-any

2018-09-20 Thread Svante Signell
Source: libdrm
Version: 2.4.94-1
Severity: important
Tags: ftbfs, patch
User: debian-k...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

Hello,

Currently libdrm FTBFS GNU/kFreeBSD (and GNU/Hurd) due to a missing case in
include/drm/drm.h. Attached is a patch to fix this. This patch is enough to make
libdrm build properly on kfreebsd-any. A corresponding patch for Hurd together
with fixes for PATH_MAX issues will be filed in a separate bug report.

Thanks!

Severity: important

Affects: mutter

The clutter build tests fail on Debian but pass on Ubuntu. Therefore,
I will be ignoring tests failures for clutter on Debian. (Because
mutter basically includes a fork of clutter, it has the same problem.)

First, make sure that libgl1-mesa-dri is installed. ( libgl1-mesa-glx
will soon depend on it but that change hasn't reached unstable yet.)

All of the tests fail with errors like this:

---

ERROR: actor-anchors

(actor-anchors:21072): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_strsplit: assertion 'string
!= NULL' failed
Segmentation fault
ERROR: actor-anchors - missing test plan
ERROR: actor-anchors - exited with status 139 (terminated by signal 11?)

-

I believe that indicates that the test crashed.

Here's a full build log:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=clutter-1.0=amd64=1.26.2%2Bdfsg-2=1504202716

gnome-shell 3.25 build tests also fail on Debian but pass on Ubuntu.
Perhaps a similar cause?

Thanks,

Bug#738106: +1 for this issue

2018-09-20 Thread Tom Eccles
Package: xorg
Version: 1:7.7+19

Dear Maintainer,

I too experienced the bug detailed at
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=738106

* What led up to the situation?

I ran the command "systemctl hibernate" and left my computer overnight before
resuming it in the morning.

After resume, my mouse pointer jumps about the screen erratically but is shown
in the right place maybe half of the time. Logical effects of the mouse pointer
(window focus, where I click, etc) do not follow these erratic motions. I have
not experienced the multi-colored horizontal lines mentioned in the original
bug. This occurs with both the touchpad built into my laptop and a USB mouse.

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?

I tried putting the computer through a suspend/resume cycle but this did not
correct the problem.

My laptop is a Thinkpad x240 i7-4600U (Intel graphics).

xorg-server no longer builds on s390x since libunwind-dev is not
available on that architecture. (This also affects many ports.)

Bug#909242: Xvfb: segfaults on mips during gtk+3.0 build-time tests

2018-09-20 Thread Simon McVittie
Package: xvfb
Version: 2:1.20.1-2
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-m...@lists.debian.org
User: debian-m...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: mips

My recent gtk+3.0 upload to experimental failed many of its build-time
tests on mips. The tests could not connect to the Xvfb server run by the
upstream build system, which later crashed with a segmentation fault.

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=gtk%2B3.0=mips=3.24.1-1=1537406479=log

I can reproduce this reliably on the mips porterbox, minkus, by running
Xvfb in a schroot with the options shown below.

Core was generated by `Xvfb -ac -noreset -screen 0 1024x768x16 :1 -nolisten tcp
-auth /dev/null'.
Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Backtrace stopped: frame did not save the PC

Line 217 is this backtrace() call:

#ifdef HAVE_BACKTRACE
/*
 * initialize the backtracer, since the ctor calls dlopen(), which
 * calls malloc(), which isn't signal-safe.
 */
do {
void *array;

backtrace(, 1); <--- here
} while (0);
#endif

so this might really be a libunwind bug (please reassign if you think so).
libunwind8:mips 1.2.1-8 was installed.

I thought this might be hardware-specific, but according to machines.cgi,
mips-sil-01 (where gtk+3.0 failed) and mips-manda-01 (where a libepoxy
build with the same xvfb and libunwind8 versions, also using Xvfb for
tests, succeeded) are matching hardware, a Rhino Labs UTM8. minkus,
the porterbox where I reproduced this, is apparently an EdgeRouter Pro.

Xvfb is used in many packages' build-time tests, which for most
maintainers are the only evidence we have that our packages are at all
functional on mips, so it might be a good idea to work around this in
Xvfb by disabling backtrace support and/or libunwind on mips.

Bug#909240: xorg-server: Unsatisfiable build-depends on libunwind-dev on s390x

2018-09-20 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Source: xorg-server
Version: 2:1.20.1-2
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs

xorg-server no longer builds on s390x since libunwind-dev is not
available on that architecture. (This also affects many ports.)
