Bug#863532: Bug update
After 7 months, the fix has migrated from upstream to testing and the tablet works on Buster. If you're in a generous mood, you can backport the fix to Stretch to fix tablets using stable. Otherwise, you can close this bug once Buster's released (assuming it doesn't regress again).
Bug#531486: regression: xrandr does not rotate correctly
The problem has since seemed to be fixed, albeit with new problems in the display dimming, but that's covered in a different bug. Bug#567619: xserver-xorg: After upgrading squeeze xserver stops responding
Agreed. Upgrading to the 2.6.32-trunk kernel seems to be part of the problem. Thank God my 2.6.30 kernel is still on the system since I am able to boot into that. However, my Wacom digitiser still isn't being detected like it used to (which is a whole other issue). Do you need my Xorg.log? The only (possibly) relevant information that I can add is that I'm running on a 852/855GM (Intel) video card. Not working: CTRL+ALT+F# and CTRL+ALT+BKSP. Cannot drop into a shell to troubleshoot. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does reboot my system, eventually. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
Bug#531486: regression: xrandr does not rotate correctly
Package: xorg Version: 1:7.3+18 Severity: normal Since upgrading to the latest version of the X server (Intel 852/855 chipset), whenever I try to launch "xrandr --rotate" on my 1024x768 display, instead of the rotated display going 1024px down and 768px across (so that it fills my tablet), it goes 1024px across and 768px down. This means that I lose the right-hand side of my display and there's a black bar at the bottom of my rotated screen. I can 'unrotate' it back successfully. This did work before upgrading X. I suspect that it's a problem with the Intel driver but I can't prove it. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xorg depends on: ii konsole [x-terminal-emulator] 4:4.2.2-1 X terminal emulator for KDE 4 ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 7.0.3-7A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglu1-mesa 7.0.3-7The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii x11-apps 7.3+4 X applications ii x11-session-utils 7.3+1 X session utilities ii x11-utils 7.4+1 X11 utilities ii x11-xfs-utils 7.4+1 X font server utilities ii x11-xkb-utils 7.4+2 X11 XKB utilities ii x11-xserver-utils 7.4+2 X server utilities ii xauth 1:1.0.3-2 X authentication utility ii xfonts-100dpi 1:1.0.0-4 100 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-75dpi 1:1.0.0-4 75 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.0-6 standard fonts for X ii xfonts-scalable 1:1.0.0-6 scalable fonts for X ii xfonts-utils 1:7.4+1X Window System font utility progr ii xinit 1.1.1-1X server initialisation tool ii xkb-data 1.5-2 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+18 the X.Org X server ii xterm [x-terminal-emulator] 242-1 X terminal emulator Versions of packages xorg recommends: pn xorg-docs (no description available) xorg suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#464662: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Synaptics TouchPad not detected in Xorg -configure
Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics Version: 0.14.7~git20070706-2 Severity: wishlist Hullo good people of Debian! I looked about for this bug and, although it's not important, I wanted to make sure that the establishment was aware of it. I have read that Xorg is moving away from /etc/X11/xorg.conf dependence in favour of automagic hardware detection. This is super. However, when I installed and configured Xorg on my laptop, Xorg -configure failed to recognise or install the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics TouchPad driver onto my machine, favouring the generic 'mouse' driver instead. Consequently, I had to rewrite the xorg.conf file myself to enable the TouchPad driver support. I wish, therefore, for Xorg -configure to detect Synaptic TouchPads on computers automatically and add whatever lines are necessary to xorg.conf. With thanks! -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xserver-xorg-input-synaptics depends on: ii libc6 2.7-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libx11-6 2:1.1.3-1 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 1:1.0.3-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.3-1 X11 Input extension library ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.1~git20080131-1 Xorg X server - core server xserver-xorg-input-synaptics recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
