To whom it may concern. After a dist-upgrade compiz refuses to start. Below is

I tried installing packages from Sid too, and that too did not alleviate the
problem. It would be appreciated if this could be looked in to
A.S.A.P, and im sure im not the only person with this problem, by my
workstation is unusable.

P.s. If there is no work around, then please put back the previous version,
that we may downgrade.

Try upgrading to a recent kernel first, for instance latest
linux-image-2.6.32-5-686.

Brice

That did the trick.

Thank you.

Bug#577509: Compiz: Cant switch desktop

2010-04-12 Thread Brent Clark
Package: compiz
Version: 0.8.4-2
Severity: normal

To whom it may concern.
Via Gnomes System - Keyboard Shortcuts, I have short cuts to switch to the
various desktop, Alt 1 -4.

Ive just upgraded my compiz, and even though the entries are listed in Gnomes
Keyboard Shortcuts, I cant rotate my desktop to the various desktop.

Control + Alt + Down works.

Bug#531591: Disabling plugin stops crashing Compiz

2010-01-13 Thread Brent Clark

Package: compiz
Version: 0.8.2-6
Severity: normal

When compiz was crashing for me, I started by randomly disabling,
trying, and then reenabling plugins. I found that by disabling the
plugin Resize Info,

compiz has not crashed on me for a while.

Path:
CompizConfig Settings Manager - Utility - Tick off Resize Info -
Log in and out.
