mouse cursor offset error on unstable

2003-07-02 Thread Eric Smith
Hi

I am not sure what event casuses this but very frequently
after running X for some time, my mouse cursor becomes
offset. It points about 1cm to the right of where it actually is.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanx

Actually it's not, anyway with XFree86 4.x, you normally don't have to
worry about modelines. Knowing the frequency ranges the monitor can
handle should be enough, or is there a specific problem?

Seems 4.x aint compatible with my display card, so using 3.3.6a
and cannot get a resolution higher than 640 x 480 - see output below.
If I try to run the fbdev server, I get a compaint that the
/dev/... does not exist.

Cannot achieve a higher resolution under windows either though.

(If there is a more appropriate forum for me to go with this, then please advise.)

XFree86 Version 3.3.6a / X Window System

If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer
than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting
   problems. (see http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)

Apple Multiscan 1705 - writing Xf86Config

2002-02-13 Thread Eric Smith
Is this an appropriate forum to ask for assistance in writing
modelines for my specific hardware above?

If not please suggest where I might do this.

Many thanks
