Bug#923334: I suspect it's not an xorg problem

2019-02-26 Thread Frank McCormick

I went into IceWm after reporting this this morning and xorg is acting
normally under that windown manager. I now suspect it's a Mate problem.

Sorry for the noise.

Google-chrome: it affects the toolbar rendering it unreadable, but
a reload of the current page seems to clear it.
In Thunderbird it sometimes smears the text on the listing of messages.

What if you try to downgrade pixman to 0.24.0 (testing)? Make sure to
restart your session after that.

Done...but it happens only intermittently so I can't tell whether
libpixman is the culprit yet.

Bug#606348: xserver-xorg-video-intel: X refuses to load this driver with an xorg.conf, without it loads Vesa on my LCD monitor

My system was fine with the previous driver - now without an xorg.conf, X
instead loads Vesa instead of Intel. With xorg.conf it refuses to load anything
saying no screens found. modeset 1 or modeset 0 makes no difference.
