PCI Radeon and X 4.1
Hey, I know the Radeon doesnt work with 3d yet, but is anyone using it for 2D? If so what version of X? what driver? and can I get a copy of your config? Ive had my PCI Radeon working for 2d in the past with X 4.0 and for a while it worked with X 4.1. In 4.0 I had to install the DRI stuff in addition to X and then use the driver named "radeon". In X 4.1 there didnt seem to be a specific radeon driver, so I used the "ati" driver which worked for a while. Im not really sure what I changed on my system, I think it may have been the upgrade from pre 1.2 to 1.3 but who knows, now if i start X using the ATI driver it hangs my machine hard. By hard I mean ssh/telnet dont repsond, keyboard doesnt work, mouse doesnt work and if it werent for the sysrq key Id spend 30 minutes or so fscking giant hard drive. Thanks a ton in advance, Ilan [EMAIL PROTECTED]

missing lib: libXft.so.1
Hey, Before I get to what I think maybe a bug Id like to thank you for your great work in packaging X. Anyways on to the report. After installing X 4.1.0-0pre1v1.2 I noticed that KDE would no longer start do to the fact that libXft.so.1 was missing. I checked in its usual location and it seems that libXft.so.1 exists but it is only a symlink to libXft.so.1.0 . As you can see here: -rw-r--r--1 root root 118k Jun 19 04:11 libXft.a lrwxrwxrwx1 root root 11 Jun 20 02:55 libXft.so -> libXft.so.1 lrwxrwxrwx1 root root 13 Jun 20 02:54 libXft.so.1 -> libXft.so.1.0 Because of this problem when attempting to start KDE I get the following error: kdeinit: error while loading shared libraries: libXft.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory /usr/X11R6/lib/libXft* used to be in xlibs and /usr/X11R6/lib/debug/libXft* was in xlibs-dbg. (both are missing as I stated above) Have they been moved to different pacakges or just mistakenly left out or what? Any help is appreaciated. Thanks again for all the great work! Ilan
