Bug#789759: libdrm-nouveau2:amd64: X hangs, multiple instances of buffer 212 on validation list

2015-06-24 Thread Lars Noschinski
Package: libdrm2
Version: 2.4.60-3

Package: libdrm-nouveau2
Version: 2.4.60-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

since some time, my X11 (running with Gnome) hangs often. This starts
with the applications not reacting to any input anymore, although the
mouse cursor still can be moved. After waiting some time, the system
seems to freeze completely.

In the log, I found the following messages before I did a hard reset:

Jun 24 08:56:31 lapnipkow6 kernel: nouveau E[gnome-shell[1627]] multiple
instances of buffer 212 on validation list
Jun 24 08:56:31 lapnipkow6 kernel: nouveau E[gnome-shell[1627]] validate_init

Jun 24 08:57:03 lapnipkow6 kernel: nouveau E[ PFIFO][:01:00.0] PGRAPH

Waiting longer also does not help (filtered for priority <= 3):

Bug#390913: xserver-xorg-video-i810: blank screen after suspend

I get my screen back, if I do a console-X11-switch.

Did you try passing acpi_sleep=s3_bios to the kernel or use vbetool post
after resume as suggested earlier? It is meant to avoid this blank
screen after resume.

"vbetool post" didn't work properly: screen goes on, but is garbled.
X11-console-switch brings it back to ok, but X11 background is broken
then; it looks like some test image.

With our without vbetool, the standard text console is broken now after
a resume.

acp_sleep=s3_bios helps, X11 and console screen come back normal after
suspend.

Nevertheless, it's a small regression, as it worked before
without this option. According to my xorg.1.log, the version I used
before was:

(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//i810_drv.so
(II) Module i810: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
 compiled for 7.1.1, module version = 1.7.2
 Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 1.0

Bug#390913: xserver-xorg-video-i810: blank screen after suspend

2007-06-28 Thread Lars Noschinski

* Brice Goglin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [07-06-23 11:34]:

I am contacting all of you again since everybody does not agree whether
this bug is fixed or not. It could be related to which chipset you have.

It would be good if all of you could try with the latest
xserver-xorg-video-intel driver (2:2.0.0-5 currently in experimental).
It is supposed to resume well.

If you still experience a black screen at resume, you should try either

What is the status of this bug now that xserver-xorg-core 1.3 and
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0 are in unstable?

It works for me with xserver-xorg-video-i810 1.7.2-4. I haven't yet
upgraded to xserver-xorg-core 1.3 and xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0.

Bug#390913: xserver-xorg-video-i810: blank screen after suspend

2006-10-07 Thread Lars Noschinski

* Lars Noschinski <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [2006-10-07 12:45]:

I've got a similar problem with an "Intel Corporation Mobile
915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03)": After resume
from suspend-to-ram, the screen stays black (even the backlight); but
the Keyboard (and the rest of the system) continues to work.

This problem doesn't occur with 1.5.1.0-2.

I tested version 1.6.1, 1.6.2, 1.6.5 and 1.7.0 from the xf86-video-intel
git repository and they all show this behaviour. So this bug is either
due to some change between 1.5.1 and 1.6.1 or an change in Xorg itself
between 7.0.22 and 7.1.0.
