Bug#528180: Additional info
I forgot to say in teh reportbug that the problem is present also using vesa driver, with an inportant difference: while usoingo openchrome driver the problem is in the cursor only , using vesa it "works" (without mouse) only if we put the memory size (on etch it figured it automaticllay) plain vga driver is ok, but of course unusable. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#187218: xserver-xfree86: clients connections rejected
The part of the bug i reported was (by you) marked as a "feature", that is a change in the default behaviour of the program after an upgrade, requiring to change by hand one of the configuration files. so could be _just for my part of the bug report_ considered closed Leonardo Boselli On Thu, 18 Jan 2007, Brice Goglin wrote: > Hi, > > About 4 years ago, you reported (or replied to) a bug in the Debian BTS > regarding X client connections being rejected. > Did any of you guys reproduce this problem recently? Right, but the real bug is not THIS one . It is that the upgrade DOES NOT read the previous configuration files, so while other packages, if you give the default reply (that is you hit return), maintains the current setting, and make new setting based on previous one, this packege completely ignore older config files (althought it make a backup of them). second microbug: why the bug is still tagged as "unreproducible"? I had the same problem on 5 different machines, whith 3 different distributions !

xfree 4.2: bug report !
Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.2 Severity: serious Using my video board with woody 3.0r0 y had to install an unoffical (althought originating from branden) 4.2 version of package since it does not work with the shipped 4.1. When installing with dpkg it complain about outdated libc6 , i say --force-depends and then it install, and works. nearly. BUG: the XFConfig86-4 is changed with a new one every time I reinstall, giving a wrong mouse configuration, rather than asking if it have to keep current one !
