Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.1.0-10 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear all, each time my laptop wakes up after hibernation with suspend2, the X-server crashes as soon as I press any key. Upgrade of XFree86 broke my X totally on Laptop IBM t40p
Dear all, after having searched the web and read some of the email on the archive, I could not find the information required for getting my X working again. Today, I upgraded X on my Laptop (IBM t40p, ATI RADEON Mobility Fire GL9000) running Debian unstable. Unfortunately, after having run the upgrade without any notice of problems, the screen gets black simply. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace does not work, but I can remote login to reboot the laptop completely since killing all processes related to X does not resolve the problem. Can anyone propose a solution to me and tell me, what to do next to get back to light? Thanks in advance, Lukas -- Lukas Ruf | Wanna know anything about raw | <http://www.lpr.ch> | IP? -> <http://www.rawip.org> | eMail Style Guide: <http://www.rawip.org/style.html>|

The only package I found is xutils -- there, it declares that the newest version was already installed. XFS got aborted because of a missing /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fs/config file. I created this one from the example given by man xfs Still the "fixed" font cannot be found. Do I have to set-up a symbolic link or something like that? Thanks in advance. Re: Problems starting X,v.4.0.3
Thanks in advance. ssh -- X11 forwarding with new server-xfree86
Dear all, I updated my woody box yesterday to the newest server for XFree86 4.0. Since then, I cannot remotely start any tools that have to connect to the X-Client. The error message _X11TransSocketINETConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111 Error: Can't open display: 10.0.1.4:0.0 [1]Exit 1communicator appears even I run xhost + or I explicitely allowed the X server to connect. Does anyone know where I can fix the problem? Thanks in advance for any help. Kind regards, Lukas
