Bug#176835: xserver-xfree86: debconf doesn't let you choose 1280x1024 for an LCD monitor
Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.2.1-4 Severity: normal If you select LCD device as your monitor and 'Medium' for selecting the monitor characteristics, you cannot select 1280x1024 as a resolution, only 1280x960 and 1600x1200. People have complained about this for years; I guess there really is no way to convince people to actually read the text of the debconf question. *The question asks what your monitor is CAPABLE OF, NOT what mode you want to use.* Agreed, but it's still confusing to have to select a resolution that's bigger than the possible resolution to be able to select 1280x1024 on the next screen so that it actually works. But from this perspective Severity: wishlist is ok. Bye, Matthias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
