Bug#630830: xorg: licenses / copyright statements missing from copyright file

2011-06-17 Thread Mike O'Connor
Source: xorg
Version: 1:7.6+7
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 12.5

The debian/copyright for this package is confusing to me. It seems to try to
indicate that the copyright holder of this software changes depending on
whether this is a debian or a ubuntu package? Can this be clarified?

There are licenses in the source code which are not present in
debian/copyright. For example, much of the software is GPL-2 licensed, but
there is no mention of the GPL-2.

There seem to be many copyright holders which should be listed in
debian/copyright which are not.

xsf-docs/COPYING specifies a copyright holder which MUST be mentioned in
debian/copyright in order to comply with the distribution license:

© 2010-2011 Cyril Brulebois

thanks,
stew

Bug#373711: here's a copyright file

2006-07-22 Thread Mike O'Connor
tags 373711 patch
thanks for stopping processing here!
--
I have tried to create a valid copyright file for this package. It is
attached to this email.

I wasn't sure of where this package was originally downloaded from, I
simply put http://x.org this should possibly be corrected with a more
accurate url.

I'm CCing Daniel Stone, since he seems to be the original re-packager.
(Original re-packager seems contradictory, doesn't it?)

Thanks!

Bug#319689: Are you still able to reproduce

2005-09-19 Thread Mike O'Connor
I tried running the 6.8.2.dfsg.1-7 server, and was unable to reproduce
this bug using your configuration file only changing the busID. Have
you tried the latest xserver-xorg to see if you are still able to
reproduce this bug?

Bug#319323: patch

I believe this patch fixes this bug. I added a new --switch to dexconf
which will allow the caller to specify what filename is used in the
comments of the xorg.conf.

Bug#319323: i've got this one in my sights

2005-07-30 Thread Mike O'Connor
the old dexconf from xfree had the paths to XF86Config-4 hard coded in
the comments. This version takes the filename on the command line. I'm
working up a patch which will allow callers of dexconf to pass a
filename to use in the comments. I've discussed a solution with
dnusinow. I'll attach a patch to this bug this evening.
