Bug#630830: xorg: licenses / copyright statements missing from copyright file
Source: xorg Version: 1:7.6+7 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 12.5 The debian/copyright for this package is confusing to me. It seems to try to indicate that the copyright holder of this software changes depending on whether this is a debian or a ubuntu package? Can this be clarified? There are licenses in the source code which are not present in debian/copyright. For example, much of the software is GPL-2 licensed, but there is no mention of the GPL-2. There seem to be many copyright holders which should be listed in debian/copyright which are not. xsf-docs/COPYING specifies a copyright holder which MUST be mentioned in debian/copyright in order to comply with the distribution license: © 2010-2011 Cyril Brulebois thanks, stew -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#373711: here's a copyright file
tags 373711 patch thanks for stopping processing here! -- I have tried to create a valid copyright file for this package. It is attached to this email. I wasn't sure of where this package was originally downloaded from, I simply put http://x.org this should possibly be corrected with a more accurate url. I'm CCing Daniel Stone, since he seems to be the original re-packager. (Original re-packager seems contradictory, doesn't it?) Thanks! stew Original Debian package author(s): Stephen Early, Mark Eichin, Branden Robinson, ISHIKAWA Mutsumi, Daniel Stone The sofware was later repackaged by: Daniel Stone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on Mon, 16 May 2005 22:10:17 +1000 The software was originally downloaded from http://x.org Copyright: Copyright 1991 by Digital Equipment Corporation, Maynard, Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Bug#319323: i've got this one in my sights
the old dexconf from xfree had the paths to XF86Config-4 hard coded in the comments. This version takes the filename on the command line. I'm working up a patch which will allow callers of dexconf to pass a filename to use in the comments. I've discussed a solution with dnusinow. I'll attach a patch to this bug this evening. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
