Bug#504015: libxxf86vm1: does not create .so link
Package: libxxf86vm1 Version: 1:1.0.2-1 Severity: normal when building a new version of ogre3d from source on another machine, i noticed that no .so link is created. i had to do an ln -s /usr/lib/libXxf86vm.so.1 /usr/lib/libXxf86vm.so or something to taht effect before i could link against it in a normal way... cu robert -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#299370: reproducable, fix
hi folks, i can unfortunately reproduce that problem on a sun ultra 5. i was also able to fix the problem by editing /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/sun/us and replacing every include "srvr_ctrl(xfree86)"; with include "srvr_ctrl(xfree86)" please note that while all other commands in these files are terminated with a ";", the include command seems not to work if there is one... cu robert -- Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Re: strange X problem
oh, and i found something else that fits into the picture: the log file says ... (II) LoadModule: "pcidata" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libpcidata.a (II) Module pcidata: vendor="The XFree86 Project" compiled for 4.3.0.1, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.6 (II) Addressable bus resource ranges are (II) OS-reported resource ranges: (II) OS-reported resource ranges after removing overlaps with PCI: (II) All system resource ranges: (II) LoadModule: "bitmap" ... looks a bit as if X could not find my graphics card. shows up on lspci though... any ideas? cu robert -- Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com signature.asc Description: Digital signature
strange X problem
hi everyone, i am trying to install sarge onto a sun ultra 5 and i am encountering a very strange X problem: startx gives me ... Markers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting, (++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational, (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. (==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Fri Jun 18 14:16:48 2004 (==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4" (EE) No devices detected. Fatal server error: no screens found ... i fin this very weird because there is not a single line of output before the "No devices detected", normally there is quite some output starting with (==) ServerLayout "Default Layout" if i do a X -configure it says "List of video drivers", then a long list (containing the ati driver i want) and then "No devices to configure. Configuration failed." background info: the computer is a sparc ultra 5 with the onboard ati 3d rage pro running 2.6.6 any idea what could cause this behaviour? cu robert -- Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com signature.asc Description: Digital signature
