Bug#695746: mesa: FTBFS on powerpcspe

2012-12-12 Thread Roland Stigge
Package: mesa
Version: 8.0.5-3
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
User: debian-powerpc...@breakpoint.cc
Usertags: powerpcspe

Hi,

mesa currently fails to build from source on powerpcspe[1] like this:

[...]
gcc -c -I. -I../../../src/gallium/include -I../../../src/gallium/auxiliary
-I../../../src/gallium/drivers -Wall -g -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes
-std=c99 -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-builtin-memcmp -Wall -g -O2 -fPIC
-DUSE_PPC_ASM -DUSE_VMX_ASM -D_GNU_SOURCE -DPTHREADS -DTEXTURE_FLOAT_ENABLED
-DHAVE_POSIX_MEMALIGN -DUSE_XCB -DGLX_INDIRECT_RENDERING -DGLX_DIRECT_RENDERING
-DGLX_USE_TLS -DPTHREADS -DUSE_EXTERNAL_DXTN_LIB=1 -DIN_DRI_DRIVER -DHAVE_ALIAS
-DHAVE_MINCORE -DHAVE_LIBUDEV -DHAVE_XCB_DRI2 -fvisibility=hidden
util/u_cpu_detect.c -o util/u_cpu_detect.o
/tmp/ccAlRhTe.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccAlRhTe.s:57: Error: Unrecognized opcode: `vand'
make[4]: *** [util/u_cpu_detect.o] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/«PKGBUILDDIR»/build/dri/src/gallium/auxiliary'
[...]

This is because in case of powerpc, mesa activates some altivec instructions
that are unknown on the pwerpcspe architecture.

The attached patch fixes this by preventing the PPC-specialcasing in case of
powerpcspe (__NO_FPRS__ is only defined there).

Thanks,

Roland

Bug#329931: xbase-clients: missing line break in /etc/X11/app-defaults/XOrgCfg

2005-09-24 Thread Roland Stigge
Package: xbase-clients
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-7
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi,

consider the source:

xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/xf86cfg/XOrgCfg.cpp:
==
[...]
*options*viewport.left: chainLeft
*options*viewport.right:chainRight
*options*list.longest: 376

*options*driverOpts.label: Options for module\
*options*driverOpts.justify:left
*options*driverOpts.width: 278
*options*popdown.label: Popdown dialog
*options*driverOpts.tip:This menu shows:\n\
[...]
==

The backslash after driverOpts.label causes the CR before the next line
to be removed in the resulting /etc/X11/app-defaults/XOrgCfg. I propose
just removing it.

Thanks.

bye,
  Roland

Bug#287249: xserver-xfree86: Crashes on SPARC with Elite3D/m6

2004-12-31 Thread Roland Stigge
Hi,

I've found the Elite3D firmware from Solaris in the
net: /usr/lib/afb.ucode. Loading this (with afbinit), it works. Seems
that the issue of #245246 isn't solved completely. Otherwise, I wouldn't
have encountered this problem. (Or did I miss some warning during the
installation process?)

This way, both my configured keyboard layout _and_ my xmodmap don't work
anymore. Please point me to an appropriate documentation for this.

Remember that it all worked someday and the problem doesn't occur in

Bug#227578: xbase-clients: xmodmap stopped working

2004-03-31 Thread Roland Stigge
Hi Branden,

maybe the problem I encounter is slightly different from Rainer's. When
redefining a key, the first two resulting characters (without and with
Shift) are working, but the second two (AltGr and [without and with
Shift]) are not. The _predefined_ characters generated with AltGr are
working (on German keyboards, e.g. {,[,],}), but when redefining those
ones, the AltGr generated characters are not working anymore.

Please note that I talked with another German DD, and for him, it's
working fine. I'm using the same redefinitions as he does, and the
problem appeared for me on upgrade to 4.3.0. He is also using current
unstable like me.
