Bug#82804: Fwd: Bug#82804: xbase-clients: [xmag] BadMatch during X_GetImage and then coredump

2007-04-10 Thread Wichert Akkerman
I haven't tried in a while, and don't have access to a linux machine at
the moment. The bug report has clear steps for reproducing it, so you
should easily be able to check if the bug still exists.

Bug#347415: scrolled-off text included in selection

2006-01-10 Thread Wichert Akkerman
Package: xterm
Severity: normal

This happens with the current unstable version.

When selecting the top visible line in xterm it can include text from
the (scrolled off) line above it. This does not always happen; I think
a critical factor is a missing word boundary between the two lines.

Bug#249629: silently ignores utf8 commandline option and resource setting

2004-05-18 Thread Wichert Akkerman
Package: xterm
Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1
Severity: normal

I tracked utf8 problem I recently had on my workstation down to a change
in behaviour in xterm: the current version no longer enables unicode
support even itf the XTerm*utf8 resource is set or the -u8 commandline
option is given if the environment does not have LC_CTYPE (or LANG
I suppose) set to a unicode locale.

I disagree with this change for a few reasons:

* it broke a setup that has been working for well over a year,
  possibly multiple years

* xterms are frequently launched from applications that are started
before a full environment is setup but at a time when the X resources
are properly loaded. This is no longer supported

* ignoring even a commandline option without giving a warning is imnsho
  bad behaviour

There is existing code to generate randomness from userland, look at
what current OpenSSH does for example.

3 button emulation

2000-10-23 Thread Wichert Akkerman

I can't seem to get 3 button emulation working in X4 on my laptop..
When X uses a default setting of 3 buttons I can use 3 buttons on
an external mouse, but when I don't use an external mouse and only
have the two buttons on the laptop itself I'm stuck.. enabling
Emulate3Buttons doesn't seem to work at all.

If I force the number of buttons to 2 than only the first button
works and the second (third actually in X terminology) doesn't
do anything at all..

Is there any way to force emulate3buttons behaviour with 3 buttons?
That would solve my problems I reckon.
