Sigh. LC_ALL=C blackbox seems to fix it. I've filed a bug on blackbox

Blackbox is crashing on phase 7 of X
This may just be me, but Blackbox won't run with the latest package of X4. It says it can't load the default font, which, when ltraced, appears to be due to XCreateFontSet returning NULL. (I'm not an X expert, though.)
