Bug#191818: xlibs: Broken /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults symlink
reopen 191818 thanks Actually, after talking to another Debian developer about this, I've changed my mind. Providing the empty directory is better because the local administrator might install non-packaged X clients which use app-defaults, and if they attempt to follow a broken symlink, they will probably become upset. I will fix this is a future release of the XFree86 packages. (Probably the next one, but I hate to make promises.) -- G. Bug#191818: xlibs: Broken /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults symlink
Package: xlibs Version: 4.2.1-6 Severity: normal If I install xlibs in a chroot with only essential packages otherwise, it creates a symlink /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults - /etc/X11/app-defaults, but the package does not make sure the target directory exists.
