Right, so having different definitions makes sense, but KP_Separator seems
to cause trouble. The definition of the key has been discussed at:
  http://www.spinics.net/lists/xf-xpert/msg07783.html
  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101225
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50282
But AFAICT problems with KP_Separator have not been reported.

But isn't a comma treated as a decimal separator in some locales?

With your settings, this key is defined as
key   { [ KP_Delete, KP_Separator ] }
but other layouts define
key   { [ KP_Delete, KP_Decimal ] }
It seems that KP_Decimal is a period and KP_Separator a comma.
That said, I do not know why this causes trouble.

Can you please mail this bug <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> the output of the
xev command when you press and release this key in the xev window?

Please strip out all the mouse events, and anything that's not a
KeyPress or KeyRelease event, really.

Bug#235125: xfree86-common: Decimal point on numeric part of Danish kbd doesn't work in some apps

2004-02-27 Thread E Pimp
Package: xfree86-common
Version: 4.3.0-2
Severity: normal

In most X applications like xchat and gaim I cannot use the decimal
point on the numeric part at the right of my keyboard. It is as if no
input is registered. In Mozilla, the button push results in the
insertion of a |

Disabling Numlock turns the key into a regular Delete button as
it is supposed to.

There is no problem when running gnome-terminal or in a TTY - the
decimal point is printed correctly.

My keyboard worked as normal until a recent upgrade of Debian Unstable.

I have a Danish keyboard with the following settings in XF86Config-4:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "CoreKeyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "dk"
EndSection

I have had the same problem with Red Hat Linux 8.0.

This bug looks like bug #233726 with the exception that I have set pc105
in XF86Config-4...
