Correct.

It is a know bug, already reported twice, and both SVN[1] and #251307
include a patch. Merging.

Bug#252558: xserver-xfree86: xserver crashes with unresolved symbol in ATI mach64 XVideo driver

2004-06-04 Thread Frank Murphy
Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4
Severity: important

I haven't used xine in a while, but after the last upgrade, starting it
crashes X. I think that the following bits are the interesting bits out
of XFree86.0.log:

.
.
.
(**) ATI(0): DPMS enabled
(WW) ATI(0): Option "ForcePCIMode" is not used
(WW) ATI(0): Option "DMAMode" is not used
(==) RandR enabled
Symbol xf86XVCopyYUV12ToPacked from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/atimisc_drv.o is unresolved!
Symbol xf86XVCopyPacked from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/atimisc_drv.o is unresolved!
(II) Initializing built-in extension MIT-SHM
(II) Initializing built-in extension XInputExtension
.
.
.
(II) 3rd Button detected: disabling emulate3Button

This should not happen!
An unresolved function was called!

Fatal server error:

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
...

I haven't had a chance to do any further investigation, and I'll be away
for a week or so. I'll try looking more when I return (unless you're
able to find the problem first, of course. :) Those warnings about
ForcePCIMode and DMAMode are also wierd.
