Hi There,
Whenever I try to start the x window, this error message comes:
PEXExtensionInit: Couldn't open default PEX font file Roman_M
I'm pretty sure this message actually has nothing to do with the one below
it. You can rectify the above two different ways:
1) Install the xfonts-pex package.
2) use dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 to disable the pex module
This should not happen!
An unresolved function was called!
I have just installed debian woody stable on to wmware machine.
XFree86.0.log and XF86Config-4 files are attached to this mail.

It's my understanding that the vmware driver in XFree86 4.1.0 just plain
doesn't work with relatively recent versions of VMWare.
However, I believe XFree86 4.2.0 and later work fine. The current version
of the XFree86 packages in Debian unstable (sid) is 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8.
I am marking this bug as applicable only to Debian 3.0 (woody).
You could upgrade to an unofficial woody backport of XFree86 4.3.0, or you
could install a replacement vmware.o XFree86 X server module that is
compatible with XFree86 4.1.0 that fixes the bug (I searched the Web, but
was unable to find this -- all I know is that it existed somewhere a year
to 18 months ago).
