Hi, About 1 year ago, you reported (or replied to) a bug in the Debian BTS regarding gnome applets breaking after XFree86 upgrade. Did any of you guys reproduce this problem recently? If not, I will close this bug in the next weeks. Thanks, Brice -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I suppose also, that it's related to xfree, because of the date the problem occurred (gnome-applets-package is to old). The applets workspaceswitcher and window list are problematic on start-up. ps axf shows no processes from gnome/applets, only gdm is running. Every 3-4 starts the gnome applets crashes, even after reboot. Unless you're having similar problems with non-GNOME apps, it's still more likely something in the GNOME stack. A backtrace might tell either way though. Moreover, it seems that applets load slower than before the update and sometimes I've got a problem with the gnome-terminal applet: I click on it, wait a few seconds with the please wait mouse pointer and nothing, and I can't run the gnome-terminal no more neither by the applet nor by the menu (nor by run a command). Why do you think this is related to xfree86? Problems like this are usually caused by GNOME components. In particular, make sure that there's no stray GNOME background processes from a previous session. -- Earthling Michel Dänzer | Debian (powerpc), X and DRI developer Libre software enthusiast| http://svcs.affero.net/rm.php?r=daenzer
