Bug#352833: acknowledged by developer (Re: Bug#352833: xlibs: xkb no longer handles grp:shift_toggle)

2006-02-15 Thread Baruch Even
Maybe it would have made sense to put a note somewhere about such
things, in my case I just found I can't type Hebrew any more and no note
to say anything about it.

Or maybe even automatic renaming of the field in the configuration file.

My configuration is using grp:shift_toggle to toggle between English and
Hebrew layouts. Since the last upgrade to my testing Xserver this no
longer works.

Looking at the relevant file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/rules/xorg there is
no mention of the shift_toggle option while there is for
alt_shift_toggle. If I change to this, it works. But I really like the
double shift toggle and would like to ask to have it back.

Look a little bit closer, and you will see grp:shifts_toggle ;)
This name change has been made for consistency reason with other
 modifiers_toggle definitions.
 Thanks for your report.

We can do that. Where do you expect to see this note?

Or maybe even automatic renaming of the field in the configuration file.

Yes, that would be great. Patches are welcome ;)
