Josh Triplett and I recreated part of the fix you cite recently because Xlib/XCB reveals the same problem, even for single-threaded apps. However, we weren't aware of the existing bug reports, so a complete fix isn't in place upstream yet. So thank you for this note. Hopefully the complete fix will be available upstream soon. With this patch(#17) I can use wine 0.9.27.
