Bug#420209: xserver-xorg-video-intel: blank screen, PP_STATUS and allocate pages warnings in X log

2007-12-06 Thread Bart Vanhaute
Hello,

the reported bug has been solved for me: I can start up X11 without any
problems. There are indeed (sometimes) problems with lid-close and
shutdown that result in a complete lock-up, as Jose Manuel reported. But
to me, these are very different from this bug: in these cases, it is for
instance not possible to go back to the text console.

Cheers,
Bart.

Hi,

What's the status of this bug with xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.2.0
currently in unstable? Bart said it was fixed but Jose Manuel reopened
it without clear explanation. Did you have the same problem ? or some
different problem else as you latest report tends to say? If even the
warning are still there but cause no harm, I would rather close the bug
and let the upstream report take care of it.

Brice

Hi,

Did any of you guys try the latest xserver-xorg-video-intel package in
experimental (currently 2:2.0.0-4)? It contains a recent upstream git
snapshop. In case it helps with your problem...

Brice

Bug#420209: xserver-xorg-video-intel: blank screen, PP_STATUS and allocate pages warnings in X log

2007-04-26 Thread Bart Vanhaute
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.0.0-1
Severity: important

After upgrade to this newest driver the X server fails to show anything
on my dell latitude D505, with intel 82852/855GM integrated graphics
device. When gdm starts up, I see some flicker, including a (possible)
quick off/on of the lcd display and then a black screen. Going back to
text console works.

I already tried to disable some features (dri, glx, ...) but no
improvement. There is a warning entry in the X log that was not
present before regarding PP_STATUS (see below). The other new warning
is the allocation of 10 pages failed, but according to Google, this is
not
critical...
