Bug#442829: libpixman-1-0: Workaround?

2007-09-18 Thread Vincent Lönngren
Package: libpixman-1-0
Version: 0.9.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #442829

Sorry for asking here, but bugs.freedesktop.org has been down all day.
I'm curious if there is any way to temporarily work around this problem?
Installing an older version of the library, something like that?

No, Xserver 1.4 needs pixman 0.9.5 unfortunately. And there is no known
fix yet (the upstream bug is not very active...). The debian bug
severity has been increased so that people are notified of it before
upgrading, that's not much from our side but it's better than nothing.
We already got 4 people reporting it, so you don't have to be sorry for
asking, this bug is very important :(

I downgraded my X server, X video package and X input packages by
taking them out of /var/cache/apt/archives and installing using dpkg
-i. I would start by going dpkg -r libpixman-1-0 as that tells you
which package to downgrade first. Then when X starts it also tells you
which one has wrong version.

I'm back working again in X because of this now.
