Bug#459653: xcursor-themes: please provides /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme

Given how simple the packaging is, I am going to consider that there is
no bug here, and thus I am closing this bug.

However, if you or anybody else ever reproduces, feel free to reopen. If
so, please keep your system in the broken symlink state so that we can
debug a bit. And check the status of xcursor-themes package (in case
dpkg got interrupted before the postinst script was done, for instance).

Of course the bug can be close, it was because I've recently reinstall
all my packages (due to an amd64 migration) but keep my old copy of /var
so alternatives were marks has being already installed. So on package
installation, links weren't create.

thanks

Package: xcursor-themes
Version: 1.0.1-5
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I was wondering why when I clicked on default cursor theme on gnome apparence,
it did not use the theme I configured with
update-alternatives --config x-cursor-themes

I look into the x-cursor-themes source package, and did not find any
installation of link
 /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme - /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-themes

with a simple ln -s /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-themes
/usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
it gets the normal behaviour.

so please add a dh_link etc/alternatives/x-cursor-themes
usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
in debian/rules :-)

Cheers,

The postinst script of xcursor-themes is supposed to do that already. I
wonder what happened to your link. I just purged and reinstalled
xcursor-themes, it seems to work fine.

Ok the update-alternatives
--install /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme \
 x-cursor-theme
/etc/X11/cursors/$THEME.theme

had not installed /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme for a strange
reason.

I've just purged and reinstalled the package and it looks to work fine
here.

Thanks,
