Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.3+10
Xorg is eating lot of CPU (up to 100%) on trivial tasks such as :
- scrolling with Shift+PageDown in a big openoffice calc spreadsheet
- resizing the default Xfce Terminal
- scrolling in big web pages with iceweasel
- switching for tab to tab with iceweasel
I do not use compiz, fusion, or anything else like that.
My deskop manager is Xfce 4.4.2.1
After having found this link :
http://lorenzod8n.wordpress.com/2007/12/23/xorg-73-in-sid-harmful/
I tried to downgrade xserver-xorg (and only xserver-xorg) to Xorg
1:7.3+7, determining it was the right version to test by using the date
on this blog + http://snapshot.debian.net/
Everything is fast again, I can re-use openoffice and iceweasel normally.

Good to know, thanks. I am marking as fixed in 2.7.1 even it might have
been fixed earlier.
Let's hope that all merged bugs are gone as well.
