I can confirm the same behavior when moving from libcompizconfig0 0.6.0-3 = 
0.7.4-1.


A little googling revealed that people have had this problem before with earlier 
versions of compiz, usually caused by a version mismatch between compiz-core and 
libcompizconfig (ABI incompatibility).  At least on my system, the 31/05 update 
took libcompizconfig to 0.7.x whereas compiz-core remained at 
0.6.3~git20080115.0ea58487-1.

Same problem here.
Everything was working fine until last update.

I'm having this issue as well.

I'm noticing the version mismatch (libcompizconfig0 is 0.7.4-2, and
compiz/compiz-core/compiz-gnome is 0.6.3-git20080115).

I have compiz working again by removing the libcompizconfig0 package.

I've had compiz working for several months in testing until a few 
packages just filtered in to testing today (31/05/08).

After intense googling I think it's this library that is at fault.

I get the following :(

I've tried removing compiz entirely and reinstalling to no avail.

I'm gutted as it was working perfectly prior to these recent updates.

I'm having the same problem here, using gtk-window-decorator. 

Please note also that the same problem occurs if you load compiz
rather than compiz-fusion by running compiz --replace gconf. The title
bard and window borders disappear in the same way, except in that case
you don't get the Couldn't load plugin 'ccp' error.

Here's the output when running with the gconf option under Gnome: 

$ compiz --replace gconf
Checking for Xgl: not present. 
Detected PCI ID for VGA: 
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: present. 
Checking for non power of two support: present. 
Checking for Composite extension: present. 
Comparing resolution (1280x1024) to maximum 3D texture size (4096):
Passed.

No nvidia-settings program available to determine VideoRam.Checking
for FBConfig: present. 
Checking for Xgl: not present. 
Starting gtk-window-decorator

I don't know whether that means the problem lies elsewhere than in the
libcompizconfig0 library.
