Google if full of stuff like this for nvidia and intel drivers off and on over the years, and the suggestion that compiz may be the problem. One guess: I get the log in screen several times but eventually, things will hang up. The three LEDs on the keyboard start flashing in unison and then I have to reboot. However, any attempt to get to another session, i.e. control-alt-F1 to a console, will restart X. This occurs from a KDE4.3 session, KDM login screen, etc. It may sometimes function OK once the desktop is completely painted and quiet. Anyway, your report is lacking a lot of information. Let's start with dmesg, Xorg log and config.
