Bug#596901: xserver-xorg-video-intel: no cursor in X

I've reported to the kernel because rebooting with 2.6.35-rc6,
2.6.34 and older ones, it works. But also xserver-xorg-video-intel
is a good candidate to this problem.

The missing cursor bug has a fix for .36, afaik. It's unrelated to this
one.

Right now I don't have the time to chase the bug, but the kernel
2.6.35~rc6-1~experimental.1 works great with the 2:2.12.0-1
xserver-xorg-video-intel in a 855 video card.

Newer kernels have the cursor problem, I stopped using the squeeze version
after debconf, before that the problems that I had were, video not
refreshing correctly, and jumpy vga video output.

I would like to bisect the bugs, but I couldn't gather enough time to actually
do it.

Hi

first I have to say there seem to be similar bugs reported (eg.
#550701), but I believe the cause here is different.

The problem is that mouse cursor is not working in X with 2.6.35 kernel
which is currently available in experimental.

It works fine with 2.6.32-20 (with 2.6.32-21 it does not start at all,
but that's different bug).

I really have no idea what other information might be useful, so please
ask whatever you will need.

Are you sure #550701? It talks about a package called tmux...

The problem is that mouse cursor is not working in X with 2.6.35 kernel

If you mean that the mouse pointer is invisible but working, i think you
are facing the same bug i've reported in #592415.
