Bug#649002: after upgrading to latest version, iBook touchpad stopped working
tag 649002 pending forwarded 649002 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/43728 thanks Hi Raf et al., Raf Czlonka (16/11/2011): > Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics > > Version: 1.5.0-1 > Severity: grave > > Hi, > > After upgrading to the new version, touchpad on my 12" iBook G4 stopped > working and all I get is the error below (full log attached). thanks for your report. I have finally found some time to investigate this problem; it's been reported upstream and the patch has been merged, so a fixed package should appear soon. I took the liberty of blogging what I did, so that one can learn how to get a detailed/useful bug report upstream: http://blog.mraw.org/2011/12/12/Fixing_synaptics_on_powerpc/ By doing that, you ensure the upstream maintainers get your bug report, even if the distro maintainer is otherwise busy or lagging behind in the bug triaging area. Now, the upstream maintainers might have a life too, but that improves the chances of getting a fix sooner than later. Mraw, KiBi. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
