It's just that it pops up a window which shows the message below, so I guess there must be some accelerated DGA which I could benefit from. Do you use XFree86 4.x and is your Matrox in this server accelerated ? Did you load the extmod module which includes the DGA extension ? -- Johannes > > Johannes Zellner wrote: > > > Hi, > > > > did anyone manage to run vmware-2 fullscreen with DGA > > on XFree86 4.x ? -- I get the vmware message: > > > > Your X server does not support XFree86 DGA accelerated graphics > > on your display hardware. Vmware 2.0.3 works fine on my Woody system, full screen and in a window. I didn't have to do anything to my X configuration to get it working either. I've got Matrox G200 and I'm using the 2.4.0test10 kernel with DRM/DRI. What does the log say? I'm running a ATI 3D Rage LT Pro. I think this boils down to a fairly simple explanation -- version mismatch. vmware supports one version of DGA, which is also supported by xf86 3.3.x, but xf86 4.0.x supports a different version of DGA. Or, at least, this is how I understand the situation. :-/ -- ``Oh Lord; Ooh you are so big; So absolutely huge; Gosh we're all really impressed down here, I can tell you.''
