Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.0.10 Severity: normal Hi, I just installed the actual xserver-xorg and after trying to start it tells me Fatal server error: could not open default font 'fixed' in the /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I tried to investigate and found out that the font fixed is an alias which is defined in /etc/X11/fonts/X11R7/misc/xfonts-base.alias. But it seems as it isn't used.
