[Declude.JunkMail] DNS Servers on W2K box
Hey Guys, What is the best DNS server to run on a W2K box. I was using the Microsoft DNS server but have been running into some problems. I reloaded it now it will not do lookups. My upstream provider will not let me point my Mail server to their DNS servers because of the amount of lookup from Declude. Any help would be apreciated. MS DNS works fine. We've been using it for years with no problems. What does the event log say? Re: [Declude.JunkMail] DNS Servers on W2K box
the problems we were having is that the dns server would quit doing lookups. All our mail would get returned. I contacted IMail and we checked it out. They found it was the DNS lookups. The only way around the problem was to reboot the DNS server about every 4-6 hours. So I reloaded the DNS server but was not able to do look ups. Kept getting Non-existent domain. Finally I put a pointer in the reverse dns with the name of the DNS server and everything seems to be working now. Not sure what was going on... [Declude.JunkMail] DOW test
Hello, I am trying to use the DOW test and I am running (Declude v1.79i16). DOW dow 6 7 1 0 Shouldn't this test fail emails that are sent on saturday and sunday and add a weight of '1'? The release notes only show 1 through 5, does it work with 6 and 7? Re: [Declude.JunkMail] DNS Servers on W2K box
I've been running on W2k MS DNS with high volume and many lookups for each message and it has performed flawlessly as far as I can tell. I would suggest turning off the caching of DNS within IMail along with failed domain skipping, and also make sure that there is only one DNS server listed in IMail. If you are still having issues, it would seem to be something that is broken as opposed to a problem with it's ability to handle the load.
