RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Spam Review Update v1.0.7

2002-02-03 Thread Todd Holt

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear. I agree with the option to remove blocks of
emails from the same sender. What I don't agree with is have SpamReview
check on startup if the address has been deleted in the past, and deleting
the message based on that. I think that is what we have Junkmail for in the
first place.

But with the black list the sender of the spam would have to have the same
return address then next time he decided to send out a block of emails...
and if I am correct.. they change that information everytime they send out a
block.. so that second block would not be stopped by the black list All
I am wanting to do is a quick way to remove blocks from the review of spams
that have been caught...

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Spam Review Update v1.0.7

2002-02-03 Thread Todd Holt

This last feature seems amazingly close to what we we all purchased Junkmail
to do in the first place. Just add it to your blacklist. I think the
better feature is one that has been discussed before, an option to add the
return email address to the junkmail blacklist. I know the app already has
an option to add to the imail kill list, but that requires a restart of
SMTP.

Seems to me the best way to handle same sender messages is to
detect within the program matching senders than ask with a popup
'Delete all instances of this sender?' Yes No. or even have a
switch in settings to do this automatically. Then you won't
even have to highlight messages to get the same effect faster.

Another way to speed review might be for the program to keep
a list of previously deleted email addresses then have a switch
in settings like 'Delete at boot matched deletes?' Yes No...
Then, as the program loads, it would automatically delete previously
deleted sender messages. One could purge this list to start over
again using this method. You would only be dealing with 'new
senders' at that point.

I don't know how much time Tom has. I do appreciate very much
the program that exists.

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Spam Review Update v1.0.7

2002-02-03 Thread Bennie

Hey Tom,

I have a suggestion... :)

On your spam review software.. can you have a button so we can sort by sent
address... then we can select all of those and delete a block at a time...

I have noticed when I am cleaning it out.. i have a number of spams which
have the same return email address... once I look at one of these.. I know
all the rest are spam... so it would be easier to do a Shift-click and
select them all.. if they were sorted by return email address...

Have I stated this with out confusing anyone...
