[NOTE: Your mail server [207.32.153.133] is missing a reverse DNS entry. All Internet
hosts are required to have a reverse DNS entry. The missing reverse DNS entry will
cause your mail to be treated as spam on some servers, such as AOL.]

released

Is it suppose to still be "Declude.exe v1.43 Release" even though
the beta version is 1.45? I also did a test virus from the free
web tools and the version coming up is 1.43.

Thanks,
Emily

Re: [Declude.Virus] MISSING_REVERSE_DNS:Entry in Virus log file

2002-02-27 Thread Emily Gossett

It's a file that reads "1.1 .exe". Is that a normal file? When I
right click on it, it doesn't give me the option to "Open With",
so I am apprehensive about opening it. I don't want to select it
to execute it, right?

Since Declude couldn't remove that directory, I would recommend
look in
d:\imail\spool\Dcc4212c.vir\ and seeing what files are in there.
Whatever
files/directories are in there are the one(s) that prevented
Declude from
deleting the directory, and should provide a clue as to what
happened.

[Declude.Virus] MISSING_REVERSE_DNS:Entry in Virus log file

2002-02-27 Thread Emily Gossett

I was looking through my virus log files for the past couple of
days and I saw this:

02/22/2002 16:54:58 Qcc4212c WARNING: Couldn't remove .vir
directory d:\imail\spool\Dcc4212c.vir\: EXTRA FILES THERE.
02/22/2002 16:54:58 Qcc4212c Likely problem: Your virus scanner is
leaving extra files/directories behind, so Declude can't delete
the directory.

It only appeared once and only on that one day. Is this something
that I should be concerned about? Something that I don't have
configured correctly?

Thank you
Emily

Thank you Scott! I overlooked your directions, and forgot, about
the Declude.exe in the \Imail directory. I was only focusing on
the file in the Declude folder.

Am I missing the bus here? I deleted "declude.exe" from my
Declude folder, I copied the "declude.exe" from the link in this
email and it is still coming up saying that I am running v1.34.
Again, I tried executing it and stopping and starting the SMTP
service.

You'll need to first delete ALL copies of Declude.exe from the
mail server.

Then, download the Declude.exe file (from
http://www.declude.com/virus/manual.htm ), and place it in the
\IMail\
directory. Then, you will be running 1.35.

>Where do we obtain the new release, Declude v1.35. Do you just

You can always find the latest version at
http://www.declude.com/virus/manual.htm . All you need to do is
replace
the .exe file; you don't even need to run it.

However, note that there is an issue that has been reported with
v1.35
where certain features may not work (ones that will not be in the
new Lite
version, such as BANCLSID). We should have a new release out
later today
to take care of that.

Where do you set up to have a virus email notification sent to a

the BANotify.eml? Where/what would you add?
