It seems that common.util was an incomplete copy of version.util, and this
class is now missing. Anybody know how to restore files from SVN? [No Attic
in the HTTP viewer.] Further, anybody able to create/checking this file &
it's package (into common)?

version.util -> common

This rework is going to take a while, especially with SVN fighting me. Also,
some thing in util probably have circular dependencies (not sure if needed)
back to version. I won't get it all done today, [read -- Gump failure], but
I'll try to keep on it.
