Hi,

Alright, I do think it is good, best, when people do things on outside
sites, that are clearly about LibO but not officially in TDF that they
do keep TDF (this list, others) informed.

So - I went ahead and sent that icon, from above URL, for use.

Then - my plan is to put a sticky [think, few inces of frame] at the top
entry of that page which has useful info:
Link to most current stable release
Link to information on how to enter a Libo Bug, in our tracker
Announcements: Beta, Security release, etc (a few lines)

I would also like to give it a little LibO branding:

was thinking of something like this

[that isn't done BTW, just laying it out is all]

Thanks

Drew

Re: [libreoffice-design] Status of the Design Team Kick-Off, and a Personal Note

2011-05-06 Thread Rafael Rocha Daud
Parabéns, my most sincere congratulations, Christoph. Hope your kid
grows strong and bright. Enjoy these early days the best you can.

Meanwhile we here will be taking care of that other kid, LibO. And in
'we' I include the new kids on the block, like myself.

Cheers.

Hi all,

sorry (in advance) for sending personal stuff to this list. But I think
it might be helpful to know that you can enjoy some weeks without my
bothering mails :-)))

Here are the details:

[libreoffice-design] Outline view improvement

2011-05-06 Thread Jesse van Rheenen
Well I'm not sure if I'm here at the right place. Because it also has to do
with some coding.
But I think the Outline view can much better.

Outline view is only edible in a small windows (navigator + styles).
Is should be at full screen (like normal document) Switchable to Outline /
document view.

For an example, here is a screenshot I just took from Microsoft Office 2010.
They have a really good outline view (with ability to edit in outline view)
http://news.cnet.com/i/bto/20081130/12_01_08WordOutline1_610x552.jpg

You can just drag and drop part in outline view so it can put it on a other
place if you want.
Also an option to collapse and decollapse, so you've a better view.
If you edit it in outline view, it's automatic sync to the normal document
view.

It's just so great and useful feature to edit documents. Easy and clear.
Because it's in the big screen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a happy user of LibreOffice and before of
OpenOffice, but the outline view is always been pour.
The only reason why I've Microsoft Office installed on my computer next to
LibreOffice (and before OpenOffice) is because of the great Outline view
edit support.

I hope some of you see the usefulness, the benefits of the big screen
outline view and edit options. And some people with the knowledge can make
it possible.

I hope someone who can do something with it will read the email. And if this
email is not at the right place, someone will lead this email to the right
place.

Greetings,
Jesse van Rheenen
(Netherlands)

Great stuff.

Two things:
First
I know it is a text problem but
The text left of the figure has a virtual line from down left to up right.
The right text has the form of an arc (closed bracket).

Figured:
  /Get help Users\
 /Stay current Supporting)
/Give support Users/

Second:
The figure seems to be a little bit close to the text above.

I'm pleased about the usage of the motif and the correspondence to the
figure:

For me it shows happiness, pleasure, throwing confetti ;-).
Really great.

Can we also have this logo without the "OpenOffice.org User Forum" to
use it on our websites?

Greetings
k-j

hmm - actually I was concentrating on the line closest to the figure,
the inside arcs..I can always block it

you mean the "setup and troubleshooting", alright, well I was trying for
resting on..but it would be clearer perhaps with some more space.

Easily - the 'person' graphic is already found on the TDF wiki:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/Branding/Ideas#By_Jens_Habermann_3

The rest is just text and items also from the wiki, here is the GIMP
file, with all the layers, for that particular graphic.
http://lo-portal.us/temp/Libre-people-logo-forum.xcf

Feel free to use it as you like - or ask for something specific and I'll
try.
