I could not find anything on the wiki that fits the dimensions. Perhaps I was not looking hard enough. If it matters at all, the background wall color is white and, I'd be a happy camper if I could get a design. The Four Foundations poster is available in vector, so I think it can be adapted for your needs. Also, I think it looks good on a white wall. http://fedorapeople.org/groups/designteam/Fedora%20Collateral/Posters/Four%20Foundations%20Posters/ -- nicu :: http://nicubunu.ro :: http://nicubunu.blogspot.com/ photography: http://photoblog.nicubunu.ro/ my Fedora stuff: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/ ___ design-team mailing list design-team@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/design-team

Do you think there is a single design that can become a 8x3 poster ? I am looking for a single monolithic one rather than 4 separate. I intend to use the Foundations separately :) I am not aware by an existing design at exactly 8x3, but the design is versatile enough, is not hard to create something like http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/photos/fudcon2009berlin/1177-img_2146.jpg -- nicu :: http://nicubunu.ro :: http://nicubunu.blogspot.com/ photography: http://photoblog.nicubunu.ro/ my Fedora stuff: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/ ___ design-team mailing list design-team@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/design-team

I just uploaded an image to make sure it is working: http://publictest7.fedoraproject.org/gallery2/ OK, here are a few of my impressions after about one week with Gallery: - the current authentication is a killer: it don't scale to have admins adding accounts for every user, even more considering our plans to increase the contributors base and make easy for everyone. In an ideal world, people would be able to login using the FAS and have their rights provided by FAS (this *may* be possible, AFAIK Gallery2 is integrated for authentication with all finds of forum and portal software); - is not easy to mass upload, the only way in our instance is tu upload ZIPs of all your files. There are alternate ways, like using WebDAV, but our install does not have the plugin; - speaking of plugins, there are only a few available, we lack some for things like layout customization. I wonder if we should try to act as admins and install plugins as we like (well, it impossible anyway without direct access to the server) or consult with the Infrastructure people (a saner, but more bureaucratic approach); - some operations are cumbersome: for example adding keywords and browsing based on keywords. I wonder if installing some plugins would make for a better experience; - I don't see a way to browse for things like 'best rated' and I wonder again: we need plugins? Normally I would have asked for other people opinions, but I see only very few of us played with the gallery, which make me doubt it is a popular/useful/wanted feature (but deep inside I still think a gallery would be good for us). -- nicu :: http://nicubunu.ro :: http://nicubunu.blogspot.com/ photography: http://photoblog.nicubunu.ro/ my Fedora stuff: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/ ___ design-team mailing list design-team@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/design-team
Re: [Design-team] background idea
I just thought that in the kind of ideas already proposed, the XII (or maybe a part of a clock with roman numbers) could be implemented according to the style of the background! I also blogged (on Planet) about it and mentioned in Fedora Weekly News. However, it is not the time to announce to a wider audience, since it is a test instance and we want at this point mostly to evaluate if the tool is good for out goals. PS: a photo made with a mobile phone will most likely won't be good enough for a wallpaper, but don't let that stop you, upload it anyway so we can play with the software. -- nicu :: http://nicubunu.ro :: http://nicubunu.blogspot.com/ photography: http://photoblog.nicubunu.ro/ my Fedora stuff: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/ ___ design-team mailing list design-team@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/design-team
[Design-team] A small icon request
With Gnome 2.28 in F12, it will be possible to have different icons for the xdg dirs: Documents: folder-documents Download: folder-download Music: folder-music Pictures: folder-pictures Public: folder-publicshare Templates: folder-templates Videos: folder-videos It would be pretty cool if we could create icons for this in a style that matches the existing user-home icon in our default icon theme (ie the folder icon with an overlayed embled in the Mist theme). http://live.gnome.org/GnomeArt/ArtRequests/issue26 has some more information on the general idea. And here is another screenshot that can serve as inspiration: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c0/Leopard_Desktop.png Any takers ?
