Yes, I like it too! Maybe it's too contrast in swirls but not a big problem
for me.

Is this prefinal design? Or when do you expect it - so I can start working on

Can't wait to get my hands on single-windows GIMP!

 I want that so bad!

We had recently the GIMP package maintainer commenting on the Desktop
list[1], it looks like we will get it packaged only after the final
release, which is currently targeted around December.

Maybe an un-official build tracking the development would help a lot of
people getting their GIMP fix, there are changes which got a lot of
people excited (not only the GUI, but also more gegl integration).

2010-02-09 Thread Hristo Petkov
Hi,
It sounds interesting. Is there any justification of this or test results
confirming this or some feasibility study on the issue.

It is interesting to know what it is associated with (on a mass scale, as you
claim).

In my view the most disgusting colour is 'jungle' green (dark green to yellow)
(but it is on the opposite side of the colour spectrum).

I just share experience. I was part of a team that committed a violet poster

the promo material was printed and pasted everywhere the general public
disagreed. After the event someone who did this stuff professionally told us
we had violated one of the unwritten rules of the profession when we made this
choice. There are just no positive associations with violet in the general
public. Even blood-red is a less negative color.

Those with violet are sickness colors. Except green and yellow also exist
naturally in non-sick contexts, while violet does not (except for flowers that
are not that common and are usually violet points, not large surfaces)

i agree with Nico.. the voilet color is quite dark tone..if it goes on
with light lavender then maybe it will be a good approch. as well as the lines
are not showing good effect. either the contrast of colors maybe.. it would be
good without adding them.

I do think the example photo in the screenshots is in poor taste,
  though. :)

I guess it would depend on whether people in the picture worked on the
new single window mode of GIMP.  If so, good on them!  If not, shame
on the editors for creating that impression.

I would be surprised if they did - my initial 'poor taste' comment was
in response to the recently highly-publicized dropping of Gimp from the
 Ubuntu core.

Feodora also doesn't ship GIMP by default on Live CD spin, right?

Please, think twice before uploading content that YOU PERSONALLY did not
create to our wiki. It's okay to upload someone else's work - if it's

you have any question as to whether or not something can be uploaded or
