[Design-team] GNOME background in Fedora 15

2010-12-18 Thread Catalin
Why not do a trick. We can use default wallpapers from KDE, Gnome,
XFCE and then use a script to put the fedora logo on the screen.
Something like:
http://catalin-festila.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-new-decor-script-for-your.html
The advantage is that we can customize how we want.
If we want to go further, then we synchronize the script with a
calendar on your desktop and can display images and text according to
major events.
Good luck.

Good point Fab with :"where this could lead to down the road."
Gnome is just one desktop environment. Gnome team seems serious.
There are other desktop environment, why not have taken the position of Gnome?
Will come on April and will have some features, this is clear .
What could happen?
It's an opportunity?
I say it's nothing to lose.

Re: [Design-team] Fedora 15 GNOME Default Wallpaper

2010-12-23 Thread Catalin
Maybe it's time for a change. I do not like excessive stubbornness and
anchoring in the past. I do not think that is a matter of
manipulation. It's just one step. Fedora had a few wallpapers that
have not been very successful. Eventually we stop to go in parallel
with Fedora wallpaper. Gnome's wallpaper to version 3.0. If you go the
idea that the design team is not able to make a wallpaper, we will not
achieve anything. Evolution of the involution is not successful, and
vice versa, the involution is not evolution.

Thank you , Maria for your trust...
I do not want to be rude with the team .
First , I have not participated in this task because I was very busy,
but a little help never hurt.

So, I try search on internet . I found these images will help me in my
explanations:

1.http://www.openclipart.org/image/800px/svg_to_png/flying-pelican.png
see wing background, how is scaled

2.http://www.openclipart.org/image/800px/svg_to_png/Peileppe_crow_flying_up.png
wings are not the same, the feeling of floating, movement

3.http://www.openclipart.org/people/LiquidSnake/1296077183.svg
you separate wing feathers so they look like tubes, see image above wing

I would use something like this, but color and gradients
4.http://chen-san.deviantart.com/art/ATC-The-Birds-163795513?q=boost:popular%20drawing%20birds&qo=90

I like very much this :
http://fc06.deviantart.net/images2/i/2004/08/9/9/3_birds.jpg
.

Re: [Design-team] Post-Alpha F15 Wallpaper Mockup

2011-02-18 Thread Catalin
gradient for the sky is too fragmented, you have to make it smoother
...on the other hand, the forest makes a common wallpaper.
...trees seem too lined up
if you want to use this kind then place a flock of birds, like :
http://www.brianalvarez.tv/images/01182009/flock1.jpg
another idea which I recommend, is to use Máirín image (has one with a
hand and a wing) in the background, the wing is a marvel of nature
and evolution and would be a shame to not see...
...a combination of these two images would give a sense of evolution
http://pointcross.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/image002.jpg?w=207&h=158
and
http://www.infovisual.info/02/img_en/057%20Wing%20of%20a%20bird.jpg
This :
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:Mockingbird-stripes-3-tata_feb15.red.png
it worked well but seems a sketch on notebook, but the wallpaper must
have something stronger in graphic expression, something symbolic and
powerful
Here is another image that would work well in Inkscape (I did not use
too often Inkscape)
http://www.ohboyparrotfood.com/images/wing-clip-line.jpg
Thank you for your attention.

Re: [Design-team] New year, new advertising campaign?

2011-02-20 Thread Catalin
I have to appreciate that the team fighting for Fedora, but this can
be done very well with a pencil in hand, brainstorming and more
understanding between us.
"If anyone has ads campaigns that can be examples (of good and bad
stuff) or ideas, pls let me (us) know about them :)"
See contests from http://www.deviantart.com/ where is many users and
the result is every time good ...
I think is to much when you say "to recruit those "already new users"
and turn them into real contributors"
Some users has 20 min to work , another has 2 days .

I do not have enough time now to deal with Fedora, but I still tried
to intervene where we thought it necessary.

However you should not see through it ...
This leads you into error and do not know what layer is.
If you want to be under the wing position, then you should not see

Very good María . I like very much .
I have one question ... Why is your sky is so cloudy?
It's fog? Sounds like a vampire scenario:)
When I think of the word "Freedom" I think of something clear, pure.
Mechanical Bird would symbolize the rules are not violated, because
this would change and half the tree.
I i found on internet this

As if this bird with the rules of life marks the tree of life.
Internal mechanisms of the subconscious can be represented on the
designs of the bird.
Here's a good one that can be used as inspiration.

I use the same bird, but with wheels and levers inside.
As symbolism would be the antithesis between freedom and rules /

I like the sky created by Alexander.

Re: [Design-team] F16 Artwork... Starting NOW!

2011-04-13 Thread Catalin
It may seem an easy task, but in my opinion it is not.
It is one of the most successful name for a linux distribution.
I read Verne's books as a child ... nearly all of them.
Defining words for these books are "adventurous" or "adventure".
Jules Verne's books with illustrations by Édouard Alphonse de Neuville
and Riou are an example of their complexity.
( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89douard_Riou)
As James Lovelock, I have not studied the theories, but reading the
wiki I realized that he wrote "Gaia theory" is named after the goddess
Gaia (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_(mythology))
I could tell that he was an adventurer in science.

We should start with some sketches, some symbols that reflect the
distribution name.

It's a good idea...
The ideea, colors , luminance is good
The flames is not good.
If you have a tablet , try make another.
See the difference between the two and you will see where the problem yourself.
I have no graphic tablet... try yourself to do this.
In your picture there is similarity in the vertical mirror.
It is obvious that you have transposed the flame ...
Search with google images with words :"blue flames wallpaper"
You will see my point...

It is not a joke, it's just unfinished ...
It seems that you are an expert, you have something better?
Because water transparency material and beating sun room is so bad.
As I said, I hope to solve this problem with a volumetric material to
give a feeling of water density.

Re: [Design-team] another wallpaprt with nautilus

2011-07-02 Thread Catalin
My biggest problem with this as Is 3D hardware.
I tried rendering on the Internet with the proposed solution, but none
of them accept and related files linked and append.
 ( see
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Data_System/Linked_Libraries#Appending_library_objects_into_your_current_project)

I'll try to use a single file without append or linked blend files ,
it will be very hard ... for my Eee PC 1000H.

Anyway , It is not only rendering, I tried to do a rendering like this image :
http://www.thomaskrijnen.com/BPY/hidden-line-render-2.jpg

But the script of thomas is not ready , because is just for one object
and i need to use a trick.

I hope will finish soon . :(

I am against these products not work with reality.

Jules Verne was also a realist. see this link :

If you want stream and pipes then read : "The Steam House" .
Also about my 3D image ... i can use a color ramp for each color .. to
change the colors of wallpaper .

Thank's for feedback.

Re: [Design-team] Anyone planning to go to Flock?

2015-03-25 Thread Catalin
Hi .
I have one great idea .
I have some projects and this spell some time , but I see one game engine
named : Godot Engine.
I think with some help from design-team and fedora developers we can give
fedora users one great fedora game.
When we have a coffee break this future game can help us with one great
game and also schedule our time.
The project can be done. We have users with skils and this help fedora
ambassadors to promote fedora.
Also the windows users can have a windows or android , because this engine
can make all outputs to many OS.
What do you think about this ideea ?
Thank's . Regards.

[Design-team] Create Count Down Graphic ...

2015-10-09 Thread Catalin
According to
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-23/f-23-design-tasks.html
the Create Count Down Graphic has *14* days.
Because most of tasks are done I think this period of time is to large.
Also I think tthe Count Down Graphic can be done from Splash Screen .
The Screen Beta and Official Count Down Graphics can fix well together, so
I think is need to add one new issue Design Phase Process .
This will give some time for users to finish the Conceptual Design Phase and
then to working to Design Phase Process with all tasks.

2016-06-23 Thread Catalin
Hi, my opinions about your issue:

- need to put buttons for all , not just for ATOMIC;
- add another icon for READ THE DOCS - is too... edged;
- scalabe/ rotate icons loop effect or put "press to take" - message : Want
more Fedora options;
- is need to add some additional notes for each of this with how can help
users;
- short intro videos for each steps into fedora distro and community teams;

[Design-team] Re: Quick idea for revamping the getfedora.org front page

2016-06-29 Thread Catalin
Thank you for replay.
about last points of view:
- aditional tech description and infos: minimal hardware / distro like a
intro for users , maybe a new page - not point to
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/questions and docs.
- a video intro made by a member of development team - example :
https://getfedora.org/en/cloud/ when can be used with some example;
- also, one good example (4 min intro)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2DIFdFtWPU - this can make also for any
issue: like the colors of fedora icon for design-team or maybe - messaging
that "Freedom is a Feature" icons ...
- videos can be play with subtitle into any language
- I don't have videos make for getfedora issue - my english is not so good
:)
Have a great day.

Is the text under each edition not sufficient or unclear?

teams;

This is a good idea! We don't have videos right now though so we'd have to
get together and make a project of creating them. If we had some that
existed though I agree they'd be a great addition to the website!

[Design-team] some question about changes implementation Planet.

2016-08-13 Thread Catalin
Dear friends.

I need to fix this ticket https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/402.
Is about resize images from http://fedoraplanet.org/heads/
As you knows the images are taken from file .planet .
This file has this structure:

name = Your Name
face = http://yourname.fedorapeople.org/yourpicture.png

So I need to know if is anything else from planet - aggregate and the last
css format of head image.

Please send me any info about this issue wil be very helpful for me and the
team Fedora.

Kindest regards and have a nice weekend.

[Design-team] Re: Request about your contribution

2016-08-18 Thread Catalin
I understand you very well.

Yes! I think the last meeting has set most of the tickets to the
fedora design team members.
Any meeting changes can also put on fedora design list if I don't online.

Most of the members follow the the rules fedora design and give some
help is not wrong.
Is one ticket has a legal issue with python logo and this will need to
fix by the design team - I don't remember the ticket, also any problem
can be put on table.

If you have some concern then you can loot to this ticket ( see:
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/421 where for example is
one reference to: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines
also some changes.

Yes. Summary of meeting can help us. - "the goal of understanding the
team's process for working on tasks."

You told me : "It creates confusion about who has taken the assignment."
Have you ? Do you see my ticket and what I need to do ? Can you help me?
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/402

Any problem with my work can be solved by sending a mail to me and duffy.

Thank you for replay.
