I believe the answer is on the end of the video. I dropped by the
website and you can do those slideshows through the website using
several templates. It is payed, which means whoever made that video
payed at least 3 $US.

I was not aware of that site, but the video present is awesome, provides
a clear and objective message, and the way it's done, it's simples and
shows some finesse.

First understand how the those requests work: a certain entity inside
the community makes a request and someone tries to accomplish it. We as
the Design Team won't give the final answer if the result is fulfilling
the needs of the original requester. However, we can and will give
advices and help. So you must also get in contact with the original
requester.

With this being said, I should note this is an old request, from before
we introduced the ticketing system and has some old replies in the wiki
archive, which were not moved into the ticketing system:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Archive:Artwork/DesignService#Fedora_Security_Spin

Back to your graphic:
- is "Master" a specific brand of locks? if so, it would be preferred to
remove it, so we don't do advertising or trademark infringement;
- the lock image (stamp) is made by you? if not, what's the source? the
license?
- the same for the 3D rendered lock and keys in the center: made by you
or taken from other source?

Is important to ensure all your sources are free, otherwise your final
image will not be free and not eligible for use.

Some suggestions:

* Blur the tiles increasingly as they increase in distance, to

* Reduce the green coloration in the outermost sets of tiles

AHAAA!

Rocket 9 (http://tatica.fedorapeople.org/Themes/rocket9.png) comes close
to what I had in mind. With the Varnishing point closer to the center
of the image and the rocket shifted to the right, its there! Lets have
some hazy hot fumes from the exhausts and a dirty (scratched) fedora
insignia on the chassis. Add stars and some asteriods -- not the busy
type -- at the background. Objects should become blurry or less visible
with increased distance from the viewing plane.

Icons will definitely stand out if the elements are faded appropriately
(towards the left)

I hope I'm making sense. Oh well, I see a nice picture coming. I
could help with the 3D but I'm new to Blender ... I'm more familiar with
MAX.

Hmm. It appears no to be related to the theme. Realistically there will be
usability issues for users but it is interesting concept. Have you added it on
the wiki[1]?

2010-02-09 Thread kanza aman
i agree with Nico.. the voilet color is quite dark tone..if it goes on
with light lavender then maybe it will be a good approch. as well as the lines
are not showing good effect. either the contrast of colors maybe.. it would be
good without adding them.

Please don't. Violet is a dangerous color to use as background, many people do
not react well to it. (touches of violet are ok, violet as dominant color not)

While not as stunning this one shows how a night launch arcs over the
sky something like the trails on Mairin's background

My thoughts are exactly same about these designs. BTW, when I looked at
these designs last week, my roommate asked [jokingly] whether Fedora
becomes Debian. I guess the swirls might remind someone of the Debian
logo... Not that it's a bad thing ;-)

Re: [Design-team] Upcoming Fedora 13 Tasks

yes i think right side is more appropriate as we can place icons on left so it
will not look good to merge the swirl with them.. i think to move swirl a
little bottom will also be cool. what others say???

You are right, the point of interest must be on the right part of the
screen. Maybe have the swirl clockwise but full, not interrupted, like
the one in Alpha (Rocket Trails 2) flipped vertically.
