2009-09-17 Thread Cata
Hello !

I don't be rude but where is "the depth" ?
Mosaic seems cut and pasted on a background
On the other hand, the mosaic is better finished .
The surfaces of water is not good .
Please see this :
http://www.softpicks.net/screenshots/Free-Underwater-Screensaver.jpg

Sorry about this .

Honestly, I don't like your approach. I think what this design needs is
slightly better shaping of the tiles, colour change towards the
perspective mosaico design we are using now and figuring out its
transition to some background. Just placing the already prepared SVG
against almost random background does not seem to work very well...

Anyway, that's just my opinion, others might disagree, so don't feel
discouraged by it ;-)

I agree with Martin and Cata.
There is no depth and generally not very good-looking. Sorry.

Some suggestions:

* Blur the tiles increasingly as they increase in distance, to
  increase the dimensional sense

* Reduce the green coloration in the outermost sets of tiles

I think it looks too much CG in a bad way. Maybe I just don't get the

It's definitely better than the previous tries, but IMHO the colouring
is too gloomy and the tiles still need some polishing. Plus, I noticed
that one group of the tiles does not use any texture which looks
strange, I guess you omitted it by mistake?

Last version is better. The big tile - in fedora logo shape alike -
looks a bit strange with the glowing. Perhaps
by adding some depth that the glowing seems to come from underneath.
