[Bug 32401] totem won't start with totem-xine engine

2006-03-26 Thread joehill
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32401

Comment:
I'm having the same problem. When I try to start totem (totem-xine engine),
the totem window appears for a split second then disappears, and I get this on
the console:

GTK Accessibility Module initialized
Bonobo accessibility support initialized

** (totem:11392): WARNING **: Trying to connect to an older version of the
GNOME screensaver
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 69 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)

I'm using all the currently updated Dapper packages, which I upgraded to today.

[Bug 35052] GStreamer/Totem crashes when seeking in H264 video's

2006-03-26 Thread Sander van Loon
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35052

Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
H264 video files do play in Totem, but as soon as you start seeking in
the vid with the seek slider, Totem will crash.

Example: http://www.own-age.com/vids/mirrors.aspx?id=6212 (the download
page for the Get Quaked 3 movie, choose one of the last two download
links for the medium quality H264 file I had the problem with). I've
also tried out a lot of other files, anime fansubs in H264 mostly.

Only file which did not have the problem for me is this file: http://www
.own-age.com/vids/mirrors.aspx?id=7359 (choose the mov version). The
only difference with the other files I tried is that this video is small
in size, and is contained in mov instead of avi or mkv.

I only seem to be having these crashes when I start seeking in videos ecoded
with H264, XviD en DivX encoded vids work fine, and Totem never crashed when I
started seeking in those vids.

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'gstreamer';
however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When right-clicking on the gnome clock on the desktop, and selecting
set date and time I had the time configuration window.

I selected Periodically synchronize clock with Internet Server, and it
told me I had to downlowd ntp support.

I did, and the packages were installed. Then I selected again
Periodically synchronize clock with Internet Server, but again the
warning Missing ntp support.

So I left the time configuration window and came back to the desktop.

When coming back to time configuration, I could select Periodically

As I understand it, the 'style properties' are:

[Bug 34813] gedit fails to save files over smbfs/cifs

2006-03-26 Thread Dhonn Lushine
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34813

Comment:
Automatic backup has been off the whole time. I turned it off because of this
and still it has the problem.

I simply made a folder website
I then have an init.d script that executes this code
mount -t cifs -o password= //192.168.1.100/website /home/dhonn/website

I now can edit any file in the website folder with any program other than gedit
just fine.

Here is my simple smb.conf file:

I've omitted all but the changes Ive personally made

security = share

[website]
comment = Website
guest ok = yes
read only = no
path = /home/dhonn/website
force user = dhonn
force group = dhonn
case sensitive = yes
public = yes
browseable = no

this smb.conf file is on my server

I have no clue what gedit is doing but its not acting right. And yes its just
gedit. No other program has this problem.

I'll give you a run down of what im doing:

Create a new text file in gedit.
Save it in the website folder.
Click save again and its giving me an error like I've shown you before and I
click Save Anyway.

Now if i start to edit the file then save. It gives me the same error again
and at the same time changing the file to excutable.

Here is the error again:

The file /home/dhonn/website/Unsaved Document 1 has been modified since
reading it.

If you save it, all the external changes could be lost. Save it anyway?

There is nothing externally making changes to my file.

So could the problem be samba altering the file after Ive made ive saved the
file?

this watch manual PDF - http://www.seiko.co.uk/supportdocs/sd_25_5m62.pdf

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download http://www.seiko.co.uk/supportdocs/sd_25_5m62.pdf
2. Open the downloaded file in evince .
3. Go to page 3.
4. Look at the box at the bottom of that page.

Expected results:
Star symbol to be shown in front of the words For the care of your watch, see

Actual results:
A rectangle is shown in front of the words For the care of your watch, see

Additional information:
In Acrobat reader opening the PDF brings up a small dialog saying The Japanese
Language Support Pckage is required to display this page properly. Under the
current configuration, this resource is not available.. Howver most of the
document goes on to be dispalyed correctly.

[Bug 30010] nautilus crashes when opening folder containg .svg file generated by Amaya

2006-03-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30010

Task: ubuntu nautilus
Sourcepackagename: nautilus = librsvg
Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs

Comment:
Thanks for your bug. Nautilus has no issue with that .svg on dapper, that's
probably a librsvg issue which has been fixed since. Feel free to reopen if you
still have the bug after upgrading

Lakin: backtrace as better to comment than attachments, it makes easier to read
the bug comments (can read the mail, don't have to open an another page, ...)
and to search for duplicates by example

Public bug report changed:

Task: ubuntu rhythmbox
 Status: Needs Info = Rejected

Comment:
Rhythmbox didn't play CDs before dapper, that's why you didn't have the
issue. CD are really slow and an access by 2 applications give the issue
you have. I'm rejecting the bug since that's not really one, CD drives
are slow, a 4 seconds annoyance is what you can expect. Feel free to
reopen with some rational if you disagree

Gnome-screensaver is aware totem is runing but the other instance of X
blanked the screen anyway. I now use xset for this other instance of X.

And here's what I get when I re-plug it:

acpi_AC property ac_adapter.present = true
acpi_CMB1 property battery.remaining_time removed
acpi_CMB1 property battery.charge_level.rate = 0 (0x0)
acpi_CMB1 property battery.voltage.current = 12166 (0x2f86)

But in all cases, the notification icon shows the battery icon.

[Bug 34635] keyboard navigation

2006-03-26 Thread Luca De Rugeriis
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34635

Comment:
Ok, I'm just trying to make it clear, no native speaker sorry.
Take a nautilus windows, list view or icon view. Imagine a folder full of misc
stuff, I'm looking for somethin beginnign with a but I don't know how many
other items are there beginnign with the same letter. So if I could cycle
between items by pressing repeatedly the same letter would be very useful. Now
this behaviour (btw which is used by windows explorer, and even in firefox
forms), could be extended to combo boxes and other list widgets.
The current beahviour, if I understand it correctly, it's the same as in the
open/save dialog but blind.
I think a consistent behaviour would be very desiderable.

[Bug 36752] doesn't print properly pdfs in 2 per page or 4 per page mode

2006-03-26 Thread Adriano
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36752

Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Using evince, the print dialog offers the option to print 2 or 4
document pages per paper page. However, the result is either one page
per page, as if nothing had been selected, or misplaced text if I turn
the page from vertical layout to horizontal.

Using xpp, I can print 4 in 1, but the order of the pages is wrong: instead of
1 3
2 4
or
1 2
3 4
it prints
2 1
4 3
or
3 1
4 2

My printer is a Samsung ML-1710.
I had reported this bug in mandriva, and it turned out to be a combination of
cups and evince bugs. The cups bug was solved, eventually, but the evince bug
wasn't. You can see the bugreport at
http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=21388. I'm filing this under cupsys too.
