[Bug 29832] Synaptic proxy
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29832 Comment: So I am using Ubuntu Dapper Flight 5 with all updates as of 26th of March 2006. I have set up my proxy settings for the whole system, via the menu System-Preferences-Network proxy. Synaptic was unable to connect to the remote repository. However, after modifying the Synaptic preferences (tab Network) with my correct proxy settings, Synaptic was able to connect to the remote repositories. My request is that I understand that Synaptics should be able to override the system proxy settings. However, there should be a third options (now there are only 2: Direct connection... and Manual proxy configuration). This third option should be something similar to Use system network settings and should be the default option. Thus, Synaptic could use either the system settings, or define and override its own network settings. Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36833 Affects: ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: with the new ubuntu icon theme in dapper (and with tango, and actually this problem is inherited from tango), the emblem for symbolic links is huge. it's probably also the case with emblems for read-only etc. i'll attach a screenshot. the problem is that /usr/share/icons/Tango/scalable/emblems probably shouldn't exist. I don't know if the ubuntu icon theme can fix that easily without changing Tango since it inherits from Tango. it's very annoying, see screenshot. in the case of the screenshot, viewing icons is completely impossible: they are hidden by the emblems.. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 34859] gdm does not restart after Ctrl+Alt+Backspace
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34859 Comment: I didn't think to check those. I looked at ~/.xsession-errors and /var/log/gdm/:0.log, but they were untouched since the last successful session. Last three or four times I tried Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, gdm restarted successfully. Maybe it failed to restart only when a new version of gdm was installed (I'm tracking Dapper) while I was running an older version? I'll let you know if I manage to reproduce the problem. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 36837] Image thumbnails are not deleted on file rename
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36837 Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Thumbnails cache of image files are not deleted if the source image is deleted. If you have 2 images and want to swap their names around, you run into a very annoying bug. If you rename image A to C, and rename image B to A. and then rename C to B Nautilus will show image B with the thumbnail of image A, and image A with the thumbnail of image B. Since the cached thumbnails are not deleted, nautilus re-uses them and thus screws up, perhaps when i rename an image, the cache for the no longer exisiting image file should be deleted, or also renamed. Refreshing nautilus, or going up and down the dir tree doesn't help. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 35721] Marks, Rhythmbox, and changing music
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35721 Comment: In rhythmbox, there is a possibility to mark, to note the quality of the song. It works with five stars, for each songs, which can be displayed optionnally. When I click on a star (to set a mark), the song's line change : the mark of course, but the name of the song too. For example. I want to mark Nothing at all of Rob Dougan. Only the album Furious Angel disc 1 is displayed in the frame. I click on the third stars (there is five stars available : 0 bad, 5 excellent) to set a 3 mark. The line where was Nothing at all displaies One and the same (coda) now. When I move the cursor over the grouped 3-marked songs, Nothing at all appears. Ok ! In fact, Rhythmbox classifies the songs best marks to worst. But the results is badly displayed, I have to move my cursor over the songs, the new order to appears. I complete the previous paragraph... It's rather a refresh problem than a marks one... -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
