[Bug 39103] Battery Charge Monitor -- time to charge estimates incorrect
Public bug reported: Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: I'm running Dapper on Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300. [Bug 27014] Re: evolution bug, Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync
Additional comment to workaround with deleting Inbox.ev-summary file in ~/.evolution/mail/local. First, you should turn off your accounts so no new mail would come in or any checking for new mail would not accour. Then, remove Inbox.ev-summary and quit Evolution. Then launch Evolution again and let it create new Inbox.ev-summary. It takes few minutes for at least thousand mails so take your time. Let it sync several times, pressing Send/Recieve (might be not necessary) and then turn on your account(s) one after one. My problem was that deleting this file and letting checking Evo mail once in two minutes didn't let create Evo this summary file, so previous workaround didn't work fully. -- evolution bug, Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/27014 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Correct. Pressing 'down' moves the hardware-mixer down 1/14th and the software mixer down 1/12th. Pressing 'up' moves the hardware-mixer up 1/14th and the software-mixer up 1/30th. Not sure what to do about this, it only shows up because of the combination of hacks (a) to get the ThinkPad volume-keys working and (b) because the gnome-settings-daemon has asymmetric volume-steps (one of which is too big and one of which is too small). Apple and everyone else have settled on 14/15/16 steps which is about right and about the right speed for volume key repeats. ** Changed in: hotkey-setup (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: hotkey-setup = control-center Assignee: Ubuntu Laptop Team = (unassigned) -- thinkpad: volume button weighting https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/39098 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

On this machine (i915 graphics) the OpenGL hacks aren't getting a z-buffer (depth buffer) so look like the polygons are all drawn in the wrong order. I'm guessing the hacks are choosing (or being given...) the wrong GLX visual to draw to. Eg. if it was choosig the first one in the list, rather than the closest then this would explain it, as: $ glxinfo | grep -m1 -B3 '^0x' visual x bf lv rg d st colorbuffer ax dp st accumbuffer ms cav id dep cl sp sz l ci b ro r g b a bf th cl r g b a ns b eat -- 0x23 24 tc 0 32 0 r y . 8 8 8 8 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 None the first one is one without an offered double-buffer. -- Poor performance / flickering with OpenGL hacks https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/22045 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 39173] [Dapper] User experience improvements
Public bug reported: Affects: ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: I don't know if this is the correct package where this should go, so sorry if this is not the right package. In Dapper the end-user experience seems to be the highest priority so I felt few things could definitely be improved upon. a) GRUB menu should have a spalsh screen. b) The startup and shutdown default spash screens look a little bland and a little intimidating to an average end-user with all the Messages scrolling up on the screen, ideally these should be replaced by splash screens which have a background (brown?) and the messages should only be on the bottom portion of the screen (perhaps just one line at the very bottom, which displays the current boot process). I think the first experience is long lasting and a non tech-savvy user would rather have the best user experience out of the box instead of having to tweak things by himself, just my 2 cents. -- [Dapper] User experience improvements https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/39173 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 4758] Re: [Bug 4758] Re: After upgrade to Breezy, hierarchical folder message list no longer correct
Hi there: I'm not sure any more what the earlier behavior was, but here's what's going on now. I have a strange mail folder arrangement as follows: Inbox -- With messages |_Folder1 -- with messages |_Folder 2 -- with messages Etc. Although Evolution shows a number of messages on the Inbox in the folder window (on the left), clicking on Inbox does not bring up the message list -- it remains empty. Other mail software does not exhibit this problem.
