[Bug 42853] Re: Mute conflict between gnome-volume-applet and gnome-volume-manager
This happens for me too. The only way to "unmute" it again for me is to use my volume up/down from my keyboard and this restores the volume. However... I'm also experiencing another "symptom" -- but not sure if I should file it as a separate bug or not. On my system, with an onboard VIA 8235 (Alsa) AC97 chipset, even when I have the volume slider(s) all the way down and it claims to be "muted," I still receive sound at a very low volume through my speakers. It's not until I actually choose to mute it that the sound stops. -- Mute conflict between gnome-volume-applet and gnome-volume-manager https://launchpad.net/bugs/42853 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

According to the Desktop User Guide in Nautilus Preferences/List Columns Preferences: "Octal Permissions: Choose this option to display the permissions of the item in octal notation, for example 764." The problem is, when I click on the 'background' tab in the properties dialogue for the top panel on my second monitor, the panels on both monitors crash and restart. This problem is repeatable and only happens when in the dialogue for the panel on the second monitor. The properties dialogue for the panel on the first monitor works properly. [Bug 43253] battery status wrong after suspend
Public bug reported: Affects: hal (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: The battery status is not updated in hal after suspend. The battery is reported as absent if plugged during suspend. Steps to reproduce: Step 1: Put the laptop (in my case a IBM T43 1871-W34) on AC power and remove the battery. Step 2: Put the laptop into suspend mode. Step 3: Insert the battery and remove the AC power cable. Step 4: Bring the laptop back to active status. This may be related to bug #23744. However, I clearly located that my issue comes from hal because /proc/acpi/battery is always correct, not like hal. ** Description changed: The battery status is not updated in hal after suspend.
