[Bug 50662] Gnumeric status bar: sum of selected cells, with dates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnumeric The gnumeric status bar includes a total of all selected cells, in the appropriate format (e.g. a selection of currency formatted cells will be shown with a currency symbol). Unfortunately, the standard spreadsheet convention of value is used, which includes dates being counted as numbers of days since some epoch or something. If you select two date cells, it shows you a meaningless total of these numbers as a date (meaningless since it depends on the value of the epoch). Worse, if you select e.g. several currency cells which happen to have a date in the middle of them, the value of the currency cells will be added to the date in some incredibly meaningless way, and shown as a new date. This should be fixed by treating date formatted cells as 0, in the same way strings are, for the purposes of this sum. ** Affects: gnumeric (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Gnumeric status bar: sum of selected cells, with dates https://launchpad.net/bugs/50662 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 50669] Evolution opens MicroSoft Office .doc files read only
Public bug reported: In Debian Sarge (OpenOffice.org 1.1.x) when someone opened a .doc file from an email in Evolution it would open in OpenOffice Read/write, and changes could be made to the page layout (letter- a4 etc) before printing. In Ubuntu Dapper (OpenOffice.org 2.0.2, Evo 2.6) that no longer occurs. Docs now open read only. [Bug 50685] Gfloppy will not successfully format a completely blank disk
Public bug reported: I have found that you cannot format a completely blank disk (one erased with a magnet) using Gfloppy or fdformat unless you use: setfdprm -p /dev/fd0 1440/1440 and then format with Gfloppy. I am surprised that the floppy density selection in Gfloppy doesn't set these parameters for you. If I run the setfdprm -p /dev/fd0 1440/1440 command just before formatting in Gfloppy, everything works fine. [Bug 50720] Lanugage translation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: launchpad-integration I'm not sure were to file this so please forward to correct place if necessary. I was translating some phrases when it occured to me that there is probably considerably less words than phrases to translate. Suggestion: In launchpad: 1. Create a standard word list and translation for the words 2. Suggest a direct translation as well (word for word) Result: 1. Makes it easier for translator when translating new phrases. 2. Words are consistently translated between packages (with different translators) 3. [Bug 47329] Similar problem
I'm also using evolution 2.6.1 on fully updated Dapper 6.0.6. When I view a piece of mail in evolution and right-click and bring up the menu item on the senders email address, choosing 'add to address book', the name does not appear in my personal contacts list (the only contact list that I have). If I perform the action again, I get a warning dialog that the address already exists (but is still not visible). If I close evolution and re-open, the contact appears in my personal contacts list, but I cannot select that contact when composing a new mail message (after pressing the new button) until I select the contact in the contact list and right-click selecting 'copy to address book' or 'move to address book'.
